    Hey everyone, I'm Leo. I work in publishing, currently as a copy editor. I also have a side gig at a comic store.

    I ....wash dishes in the evening shift. This means my days and nights tend to be skewed, like anyone who's been in the restaurant biz for a while. And I almost never get weekends off. My education's a BFA in art with a secondary emphasis in art history, and I've been racking up psychology credits like some sort of addict the past few years.

    I work for a video game store in the north of England. I know what people say about retail, but honestly? I love this job, it's so damn easy after working four years in two different offices. We get some crazy customers, and some genuinely nice people in. I have regular customers who come in sometimes just for a chat and the day just flies by. The only bad side to it at the moment is the bosses. My two managers are both difficult people to work with because of incompetency and arrogance.

    Anyway, it's nearly Christmas, so we get six new staff members soon to train, and more importantly, tease. It's gonna be fun.

    In the mornings I work at the public library barcoding newspapers. I enjoy the job and do it consistently well.

    In the afternoons, I work at the university as a secretary for a teacher education program. I get paid far too much to do far too little and I can't stand the job but it buys me glasses and food and pays the rent. I suck at this job. It is grant funded, so I only have to have it until the end of June 2009. Yay for impending unemployment...

    Max. I work as an editorial assistant for three tobacco-related/oriented mags, all under one roof. And right now, I should be proofing pages.

    I'm also a freelance accountant for the Queens branch of my comic store (I used to manage the NYC location before it closed).

    Well since you asked so nicely

    I am a financial manager and I create and run price and costing models for digital imaging equipment. Multiple times a year my company will bring in several hospital systems looking to buy this equipment and then have the manufacturers come in and play them off of each other to bid down the price. I have to calculate the cost of owning the machines, the accessories, etc and determine which machine represents the best value. I also do the same thing with some commodity healthcare products, but that is not nearly as interesting. So in a nutshell I fiddle with numbers all day, it's not something I set out to do with my life, but I'm good at it and actually enjoy it.

    I do admin in a physical therapy office. It's a small company--while having all the perks of a family-like atmosphere--also has the downside of each person mostly having their own set of tasks, making it rather difficult to get time off. Been here for over five years now, seems like a lot longer, not really in a bad way though. I do, however, have 9 hour-access to a superfast computer and internet, which I make the most of by....being on Twitter, mostly. Hrm. Oh, and WC, of course.

    And no, I cannot give massages. I'm useless, I know.

    I started off in the localization business, ventured into the computer industry, had a burnout and returned to language. I'm currently a self-employed translator/localizer, specializing in patents. This means that over the past four years I've translated about 200 mobile communication system patents. Educational. (Speaking of which, I have no formal education in the field. Thankfully 12 years' experience looks good on a résumé.)

    I also got my first cookbook translation (STEAK by Paul Gayler) published this fall. That was a fun process and anything that involves food gets me interested.

    I've also been known to get monies for music, but not much beyond covering expenses. At least the beer is free.

    I am a home automation specialist. The company I work with puts systems in houses that can turn lights on and off, music, video, etc. TV's that come out of furniture, touchpanels that control the whole house, cameras that pan and zoom, etc, etc. I specialize in the lighting end of things, and on the system design itself. Reading lots of manuals, drawing schematics of the hookups on the computer, etc. Lots of fun expensive toys. Can't afford them myself, but at least I get to play with them...

    I plan and manage criminal justice projects for a seven-county region of the gulf coast of Texas. I work on things like law enforcement training, alternatives to confinement for juvenile offenders, being a go-between for victims' services groups and the state government, etc.

    I used to be newspaper editor and hated it.

    I am also studying to be a professional futurist.

    Hey all, I'm Adam and I am currently a middle school teacher working in Toronto. I have been working for 9 years and don't regret a single day.
    Educationally I did a BA in Anthropology and then got my BEd which lead directly to teaching.

    Unemployed at the moment. I am a Social Researcher by profession, sort of, I came back to London for a better life and ended up filming cheques for 3 years.

    So that worked out really well.

    Most of my life I bartended at night, managed book and comic retail during the day plus production/security for festivals and bands on the weekends.

    Gave that up for a stint as the owner of a comic retail shop.

    Right now I'm getting MS Office Suite Masters Certification for a government job in order to get out of debt and give the shop another go.

    I also bake/sculpt the occasional specialty wedding cake and some light catering when I have the time.
