    Hello Whitechapel,
Just wanted to share with you all a few bits of information regarding my upcoming graphic novel mash-note to dance music, "B.P.M.", which I am self publishing under my own Cafe Digital Studios imprint. It will be listed in the October issue of Diamond's PREVIEWS catalog (order code OCT084169), for sale in November.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: The new PREVIEWS for OCTOBER 2008 (books shipping in DECEMBER) is out today. "BPM" is listed under FIERY STUDIOS (page 296), NOT CAFE DIGITAL STUDIOS. I am trying to get this sorted out, but please alert your local stores to look for the book under FIERY STUDIOS rather than CAFE DIGITAL STUDIOS. The Diamond order code is still correct (OCT084169), and despite the December shipping stated, BPM will still be shipped in November until further notice.

You too can own a copy of the graphic novel critic Tim O'Shea calls "the graphic novel equivalent to Nick Hornby's 'High Fidelity'"!

The books are finally through customs and they look great. I'm really excited about how they turned out; I'm even more excited that the palette delivered was not 300 pairs of off-brand Nikes or VCRs! Ahh, international shipping...

On a more local B.P.M. note (if you're local to Kalamazoo, Michigan, that is), I will be having a kick-off author talk at the Kalamazoo Public Library on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, from 6:30-8:30 PM. I'll be there with a ton of technology in tow, we're going to shoo out all the old folks, plug in the turntable, spin some noisy old vinyl and do a proper "audio/visual graphic novel reading", DJ style! If you're within earshot, I'd love to have you attend. I'll have the new book there for sale, and I'll attempt to show my beatmixing skills (?) by demonstrating the common ground between Nitzer Ebb and Michael Jackson to a live library audience. Should be a raving old time!

To preview the book for free online, click here: BPM ONLINE PREVIEW
For directions and additional information about the Kalamazoo Public Library: LINK

Next stop after the library gig is SPX, so hopefully I'll have a chance to meet with some of you in Bethesda!
    Thanks for letting me share!

I'm always a little worried about shilling stuff here, not wanting to come off like an unwanted carnival barker, but given the rabid music community here, I think folks might dig my book if they like the tunes. Thanks much!

Thanks much for the plug, Warren. MUCH appreciated. And yes, I promise not to play any Fat Boys records at the kick-off event, thus causing the universe to fart and fold in on itself...

You're a bad bad man, Sizer. Makes me miss the old days. I will pay money for your book, even though the story hurts.

    Bad man.

    Bad man?
Why? Cuz I tell the truth, that music cuts like a knife, but it feels so right?

Oh, lovely. I'll be putting a call in to the comics shop tomorrow, I think.

    @ Sizer

Yes. even a few years down the road out of that life, reminders still hurt.

    Bless you, you bad man

As I've stated elsewhere, the best way to help me with this book is to initially order through your local comic store. Retailers order through Diamond, Diamond sees my orders increase, they justify keeping my funny-book making ass on their lists, everybody wins.

Paul gave me a copy of this at WWChi and while I lost the CD for a while i'm 2/3rd of the way through it and enjoying it. I just wish there was some fat boys in it.

The Fat Boys, like plutonium, need to be used ONLY when America's security is on the line. Or when you want Warren Ellis to call you a bastard...

Dude, you totally didn't tell me that. Or share for that matter. :P

See TacoPunch? I've used you to be my media monkey, giving you things others crave, thus making them envy and hate you, leaving all the loving thoughts for me.
    Or not.

Online preview version = yummy. Here’s to a brilliant future for me not keeping individual books in plastic bags ever again.

Yummy? I'll take that! And yeah, books need to be free from plastic bags!

Also, I've been getting a HUGE spike in hits since Warren posted a mention of the book on his main page, even encouraging a guy from Italy to leave me a really impassioned reply on my BPM BLOG saying he loved the story, found my artwork weirdly inconsistent, and was going to rush out to his local store to order it right away.
Again, I'll take all the honest crits people care to dish out. If they STILL order the book, I'm cool with that as well!

I posted the last three pages that I'm providing online for free through my blog BPM BLOG, so if you want to find out how it ends up, you gotta pony up for the book! That's fair, right? Please feel free to check it out and let me know what you think!

Loved the BPM preview - the photo/art style works fantastically. More importantly, though, it led to me discovering Little White Mouse, which is amazing! I am going to be ordering that, BPM and Moped Army come payday - are Amazon orders as useful to you as comic shop orders? It's just that my local comic shop is a bit rubbish.

Yes, Amazon orders are helpful as well, as they get ordered back through Diamond Book Distribution, so if that works for you, it works for me. Thanks for the nice words, and I'm glad you found LITTLE WHITE MOUSE because of it. I am releasing the ENTIRE Little White Mouse series online currently over at WebComics Nation, where we're just now into the second series. Updated Monday, Wednesday, Friday, all for free! Thanks for the support!
