It's gone noon UK time on Friday, and that means it's FREAKANGELS.

(I really like how the RSS Window turned out this week.)

Yeah... You know that thing you do when you're not awake? Haven't done that so much this week, no. I mean, even less than usual -- very, very busy. I read everything here, so I think I'm caught up, but I'm also a little tired and may have missed something. Anything exciting happen while I've been down in the mines?

I'm okay today. Really okay. Sang songs to thirty children this morning and I'm going to talk comics all afternoon. Good day.

This week's was another nice episode, in that it feels like everything is calm, but there's enough churning underneath the surface to know that things are gonna go apeshit again soon...

you mean I woke up early enough to read it this week without having to be reminded by email? I am almost impressed with myself. Just going back to bed though.

Loved this weeks installment too. I get the sense that so much is going on behind the scenes to be just another quiet day, but I also doubt after the assault in the last volume that we will see things go to a constant state of being under seige either. Or am I just thinking in the mode of wishful?

It seems like I stay up all night just to wait for this week's Freakangels.

Thank you so much for giving me something to do during my restless hours

To save people from googling, the genus pulsatilla are members of the buttercup family, with varying degrees of toxicity and are used in herbal and homeopathic remedies. I'm guessing that she was using a preparation of pulstilla pratenis as an anti-inflamatory, placebo and general tonic

Yay for Friday! I bought my wife some Pulsatilla yesterday as part of her mother and baby homeopathy kit.

I seem to be going to bed later, falling asleep sooner but waking up tireder. The plasterer didn't show up last Saturday and he hasn't returned my call. The car seat for the baby arrived yesterday, so I tested out how to fit it to the stroller. At some point I need to check out how to fix the base unit to the car.

yet another 6 wonderful pages of a life that may be....

nothing exciting here for me other that the escape that minds like warren provide. outside of doctors and my weekly one hour visit with friends at charlie's, life pretty much could be a whole lot better. yet, something in the back of my mind tells me it could be worst.

Imagine if doctors really had magical x-ray powers. It would make things so much easier...

This week's episode was good. I quite enjoyed it. I was most intrigued by the freakangels symbol on the back of the lab coat the Doctor was wearing. I would love to see a more clear shot of it!

The logo on the back of Miki's labcoat looks intriguing. I wanna see it uncovered!

Me, tomorrow afternoon I'm playing mini golf and laser tag to celebrate my friend's birthday, and to a lesser extent my own birthday on this coming tuesday. I don't have enough friends in this town to do that effectively myself, so by leeching off her celebrations I can achieve some semblance of success. And on sunday I'm cooking dinner for a couple of my own actual friends who I DIDN'T need to leech, complete with a ridiculously elaborate invitation that ran to two pages. I'll be cooking Char Siu Bao with creamy mash and mandarin & spinach salad. And it shall rock.

    It's a FreakAngeled Caduceus.
    Caduceus
There's a better view of it in episode 28, page 1, panel 3, on Miki's wall.

So, next week is the Freak Cave?

    Nice.

Love the effect to see inside the baby chest.

I am really relaxed today. Maybe because I slept more. Fell asleep while drawing another scene of my comic.

I'll have to work harder in the week end..

    Have a nice weekend everybody!

heh. funny how many people thought the last part ended on a sinister note, i figured it would work out something like that, healing hands ballpark.

just passed 2pm, home, had latish lunch.
got to entertain cat, or else.
get kettle on for a coffee.
and boot up ye old radio.

Hmmm... the use of pulsatilla, especially the instructions to chew it seem really *wrong*. To use it homoeopathically would also have no effect, because it's, you know, mumbo-jumbo hand-waving.

(Above and beyond the placebo effect of course).

Which I think is an important part of this exchange given how Mr Ellis research is damn fine and so these 'errors' I think might point to the character, or even the world in which they are living.

(Maybe in this world homeopathic remedies really do work?)

The other interesting bit of dialogue was when it's mentioned 'like they had in Vegas', which points to the flooding of London not being a local event. It also has me wondering what happened to Vegas.

So yes, Freakangel continues to be superb.

(I wonder if it's just the way the story is packaged out that leads to me thinking so much about the story, I hardly ever do this for normal monthly titles).

I had a "glass" of wine last night, and ended up drinking half the bottle. I had snatched a big glass and wasnt' paying attention. Oh well.

    Sleep? Ha!

As for the Doctor in action - is she really just "looking" inside only, or is she actually doing something with the funky purple glow? If the pills are a follow-up and aren't even going to help what's wrong per se, did she fix it? The brain is tired and wishes this little detailed clarified.

It's interesting that the people there really have no idea the Freakangels caused the tides to roll in, yet the Freakangels are smart enough to have set up civilization. I know that thier gifts aren't talked about much (or known for that matter), but there is no way they could have gone this long without some people figuring out something was a bit "off" about the people with the purple lamps. In a small town, everyone knows your business either directly, or via someone else.

The reflections in the sunglasses is gorgeous.

I also like the foreshadowing puking scene. He's going to do something dumb.

Interesting new skill for the 'angels, there. Another swan episode - graceful and calm above water, paddling like fuck underneath. Fridays are always a good day because of FA.

Have come down with the Martian death flu I get as a reaction when I stop running on the hamster wheel of stress. Should bugger off after the weekend if I keep up with the tea/rest/green veg/vit c thing I do usually but rather annoying as I had to cancel a job interview. Thankfully, only for a temp job and I'm currently running between four of those at the moment. Had it been permanent, I would have hauled my carcass there regardless.

Yes, I am typing this from my bed. Thank fuck for wifi.

@reynolds i would take the vegas reference to be to before the floods, and be a reference to some kind of show they saw together, in which there is an act she has her harem imitating for her pleasure.
as for the idea of the problem being more widly spread, well yeah, that kind of makes sense as a given, at least to some degree. or is it just me making that kind of assumption?

Those don't look like homeopathic tablets. Homeopathic remedies tend to come in tiny pillules. They are probably just herbal tablets. There's a big difference between homeopathic medicine and herbal.

The Vegas reference would be the nightly fountain display to music at the Bellagio.
