So does anyone else listen to TV on the Radio?

Admittedly, I first heard about them when they toured with NIN back in 2005. I've been really impressed with their music, specifically the multi-layered quality and the fact that it always gets into your subconscious. I wouldn't say it's "catchy," but I find myself humming their song "Dreams" even when I haven't listened to it in a couple of weeks.

Their new album Dear Science came out this week. I just picked it up and haven't had a chance to listen to all of it yet.

Stupid thing is, I somehow managed to grab the regular version of the album and not the one that has 4 bonus tracks. Not a huge deal, but I'm a bit of a completist when it comes to music I like.

    i love TVontheRadio.
the band i formed covered their song "staring at the sun" (until i moved away to ft.mcmurray). they are freakin' killer live. i have seen them twice now. i think they will be one of those bands i go to see everytime they are near.
thank you for telling me that they have a new album.
i think my grrl owns everything they ever released.

Despite the fact that David Bowie appears on their last album and gave them his cursed seal of approval , I quite like them.
Please God let them not have turned entirely " funky". I don't do " funky". Not sure if I'm cool enough for them . The doowop stuff is great though.Just ignore the image of David Bowie listening to it in a gleaming minimalist apartment and bobbing his stupid smug face around to it.

Wolf Like Me was great. Listened to the rest of whatever album that was on and it didn't really catch my interest. Wolf Like Me was also a tribute to Howlin Wolf, which instantly makes TV on the Radio awesome in my mind. Now if only they'd cover Smokestack Lightnin....

Got it earlier this week: I think pretty much anyone's cool enough for the Dear Science album. It's not all-out funky -- I mean, yes, it's certainly got Funk elements, but it's very... accessible. Think less Bowie's chamber music, and more network cop series soundtrack. It's not bad, but it's not going to exclude anyone by its being too anything.

'hate funk'? world should be more into it, but what do i know.

tv on the radio's new record is excellent. dave sitek has another winner; the inclusion of member from antibalas, in my opinion, seems like a logical choice for this band. a good change from the distortion of return to cookie mountain. but i'm a sucker for brass sections in modern music so...

...and tunde adebimpe's vocals have a weird sway over me.

Wow, if you think that all funk has a desperate-porno-vibe to it (and that that is necessarily a bad thing) I'd say you've been listening to the wrong kind of funk.

I just got hold of the album and I'm'na check it out now, glad to hear people like it! In general I find TVOTR are one of those bands that I admire more than I like, but then I often find that this admiration develops into a deep, deep love for other bands, so we'll see.
