We're going to launch one of these threads a month. And down the months and years, we'll build up not only a mugshot parade of the Whitechapel crew -- but also, for those who choose to participate monthly, there'll be a record of how we all change and grow (and in my case age horribly).

Obviously, I encourage participation from everyone, even if you're just joining the place. This thread is certainly not just for the old lags.

So. Take a photo of yourself and post it (if you're not sure how -- you put a photo on the web somewhere, a free hosting site like Flickr or Photobucket or your LJ gallery if you use LJ -- Blogger image hosting won't work -- and click the "img" button above to put the address of the image in, the http://) here.

I'll get to mine once I'm, you know... piss off, I'm busy...

These were done with glow bracelets ringing the lenses instead of LEDs. I had to heat them up with a hair dryer to squeeze enough light out of them for a photograph.

Sorted out a business trip to Singapore just now. Business trips are very alien to me. I'm not sure how much to spend on hotel or airfare. I spent upwards of 2 hours on Asia Rooms and Travel Asia, finding a hotel around City Hall, to learn, finally, that all of them are booked. Maybe it's the Biennale that's wrapping up Thursday night. I only found out this afternoon I had to go on Thursday, so I've been scrambling to plan for it. I haven't done any work today and yet I feel stressed.

@allana: quite good, it was packed with people & had a ton of vendors. there was also a mix of zombies browsing through before heading over to the zombie march at the park. at the same time the dance studio in the next room was having what looked like ballet class for preteens. had to wonder what the parents thought as they passed thru the throng with their kids :)

Also, I have no lighting.
Also also, one-armed pushups are very silly and not really all that good for you.

But I was all grumped up and trying to do some campy macho posing, and thought this end result was at least amusing enough to share.

Some delivery guy basically refused to give me my package because he needed help taking it up the stairs, and assessed me as obviously too feeble to help.
I'm not saying I have Herculean strength, but if the package is okay for one man - who was shorter than me and not all that built - to carry on flat ground, then I'm quite confident I can provide adequate additional support to take it up a couple flights of stairs.

What an asshole.

I know this tantrum is quite irrelevant, but my birthday is minutes away so I'm hoping that will earn me some indulgence.

@Gekko Thanks, but I'm afraid that photo is a bit hopeless. Very low light conditions resulting in very slow shutter speed and blurry mess everywhere.... I'm not sure there's anything that would make it really much better. To me, your treatment makes it seem like there is steam. Like maybe someone walked in on me doing pushups in the sauna. Hee.

@Willow BI00 Glorious! I love that. I admit I was really caught off guard by this guy, though in hindsight there is sadly nothing surprising about it. I just don't normally find myself in situations where there is the opportunity for strangers to address my physical strength one way or another. It most certainly fills me with the urge to start designing some images that are easily printable and postable, or easily converted to stencil. I was planning to do some fun vaguely-gothy reinterpretations/covers of Rosie The Riveter anyhow ...

@Zoetica Hee! Umm... I don't know if I can still do pull-ups. I have nothing around here to try them on and the last time I was so moved was years ago. I know this is just going to be annoying, but the truth is I don't actually work out at all. (Unless you count walking and sex). I only bothered trying to see if I could do one-armed push-ups because I was trying to think of macho things to do for my camera.
I've always just been able to do these kinds of things. Even as a kid. Actually, especially as a kid. I think I'm not nearly as strong as an adult somehow.... perhaps because as a kid I actually exercised all the time?
I think I just have a natural tendency to put on muscle.
Also, I eat a lot of pastry. I can't be positive but I do enjoy believing that helps.
