    Here's technology for you... The water pump has blown at the house in the moutains, so we have about 10 gallons of water for 7 adults and 5 kids, but thanks to my PDA linked to my laptop, I have highspeed internet. I feel like Spider Fucking Jeruselum on the mountain...

    Oh, I can one-up you. This time two winters back I was living in a cabin with no running water in the middle of Alaska (which is quite common in the area I was living), and on Christmas Eve I ran out of heating oil. And rather than suck it up and spend Christmas with my family, I toughed it out in my frozen cabin overnight.
