Someone once asked me what makes a good image for a heavy metal album and all I could think of saying was that when you are done with the image, try and imagine a dragon in there somewhere. If it doesn't look awesome, you need to change it.
Yeah I imagine at some point we'll get the dragons worked in there, maybe all winding around the sigil. Probably when we write our epic D&D or Tolkien album.
For all you folks interested in indie metal, Flaming Tusk is going to be featured on KWTF internet radio, http://www.kwtfworldwide.com/, during Kore Rozzik's weekly local metal show. Tune in for an hour between 9 and 10 PM Eastern Standard Time TOMORROW (yes, election day).
related: i am also a guitar player in my band, and recorded our ep myself. we have a sigil on our cover. both cover and record are free on Internets: Caestles - We Have Built A New God
our parallels, they are eerie no?
the simple version: converge + radiohead
the long version: soundtracks and ambient/noise music influences get folded into epic post rock and techy metal, juxtaposing complex melodies and barely-organized angular guitar in an effort to overwhelm that ass.
i dug your record, it's raw as fuck. double like that don detailed his process on LJ. i'm planning on doing the same for our site after i finish the 2 records i'm working on for other bands right now.
i totally recommend this CAESTLES ep, good couple songs! too bad you guys are on the other side of the country from me....also, for some newer folk who havent heard me pimp my electronic/grind/metal band, we are SATAN'S MONK- we havent played any shows since GENGHIS TRON/YIP YIP/ BLACK COBRA, but check that shit.
@Muad'Dib Thanks! We really dig how it sounds, too, and apparently so did the guys at Metal-Rules.com since that's almost all they talked about in their review.
i like your music QXZ! reminds me to some bands from my home city, when i'm at the loud, sometimes pc sometimes not, uncommercial metal/grindcore/anything concerts in the local squats.
another question to all you guys: do you go to any metal festivals 2009? because i go to several, in and outside of germany, and if some of you are e.g. at the "metalcamp" next year we could drink a beer together listening to thrash quoting spider jerusalem. or so. "wacken" i don't go to. but maaaybee "graspop" in belgium. possibly "bang your head". definitely "party.san" and "fuck the commerce2 which are close to berlin. and so on...
