    The film magazine Little White Lies runs its film review using 'alternate categories' to rate the film at the end. What categories would you rate \ describe your favorite genres with?

    For example, for metal \ rock, I think you could have

    Brutality : 1 = AC\DC & Lynyrd Skynryd through 10 = Iron Monkey, SYL etc
    Adrenalin : 1 = Jesu (shoegazing extraordinaire), 10 = (in your face aggression for the whole album)
    Cheese : ?

    Any ideas for other genres or even for this one?

    For most genres (examples in the metal genre):

    Left-brain/right-brain: 1 = Meshuggah & SGM, 10 = Neurosis & Napalm Death

    grinnability: 8 = animal collective, 2.5 = warren zevon, 1.5 = nick cave
    gut-grabbing: 9 = willy porter, 1 = tmbg, bit shifter
