Next thursday i'll have to hold a microphone and talk about the non existing brazilian comic market in a small superman-anniversary themed event. That wasn't a very good idea. It's the first non-anime comic event here and people are already complaining about it in local mailing lists.

since I started reading freakangels though, every friday makes any shitty week look a little brighter.

Warren your post about your daughter was hilarious, she sounds terrific. I think my parents could write something similar about me years ago, only they don't even know how to turn on the computer. Lucky me.

Anyway, I've been so occupied with my day job and personal web projects that I completely forgot to check out the new Freakangels episode this morning (and I've been off the Twitter, so I missed Warren's usual weekly reminder). So, here at the day job, with R.E.M. on the headphones, I'm getting caught up.

All of the Freakangels chapters have been excellent, but today we're into goosebumps territory. What a great way to recap the characters. Being a TV fan of my age, I had a flashback to Jim Phelps on the old "Mission: Impossible" series, sitting in his classy apartment living room, flipping through the dossiers of the various members of the Impossible Missions Force, the serious Lalo Schifrin score drumming in the background.

(Which gives me a thought: Is there Music to Read Freakangels By?)

My week has spun my brain on a lathe of frantic desperation, whittling it from a sturdy plank to the thinnest of toothpicks. One of the chores at my day job is to moderate our community forums, and I can only wish that our boards enjoyed the level of intelligent participation as do the Whitechapel boards. At their craziest, the Whitechapel discussions cannot even pretend to match the scope of juvenile anarchy I grapple with on a daily basis on our forums. I reside in a Republican stronghold here in the Bible Belt of the southern U.S., and with the election only a couple of weeks away, the cacophony of the forums is ... I'm too tired and fried to come up with another analogy; go back and re-use the lathe thing.

Kaitlyn in particular impressed me. She's got presence, which is as much a credit to Paul Duffield as Warren's dialouge, and it's a presence based on the impression of stillness she has in relation to the others. Her expression and such.
