Any chance of big Hi-res copies of the portrait panels?

Lovely art as always and a lovely personal tone to the re-cap.

Surviving this week - and gods help me am going clubbing with our kinda insane cataloguer and his friends tomorrow.

I now have a little theme song in my head for the moments when I realize that it's Friday and there's a new Freakangels. I have no idea how to write it down, so it will just have to be on my own soundtrack.

So much to enjoy about this episode - don't really know where to begin. So I won't.

    Thanks so much all!

Today begins the Moving Weekend of Hope and Painting. My shoulder is all kinds of opposed to the idea, but the rest of me is on over-drive so it's just going to have to relax and get used to the idea. Week's been active, feeling pretty okay. One advantage to having no credit card, no credit, no car, etc. is that the economy tanking isn't really a direct hit to my lifestyle. I feel for the rest, though.

ahahaahaha "I take my job seriously. I never failed anybody" hahahahahaaaa
love the reaction shot of KK and Miki
    fantastic montage moments this week
    naked exposition, consummately executed
the character portraits (words and pictures) are just outright beautiful
    so much love

... i'll know by the end of today whether this has just been a good week or if it's been a fan-frickin-tastic one...

Karl is gonna turn into a Lovecraftian demi-god after imbibing alcohol?

    Sweet.

Crazy Kait is my new favorite freak angel. Than again I gravitate towards the crazy.
Oh heck. they're all such interesting characters!

I enjoyed this episode, as usual. It's good, solid work. Its nice having something to look forward to on fridays; and good art is good art -be it words, pictures, or both.

nice piece, though, it does feel more cut off in middle than any of the previous episodes.

been mixed week. had to go to a funeral yesterday. parents should have been there more than me, but they are out of the country.
it was a weird experience, family history that everyone seemed to be public knowledge to everyone except our part of the family. go figure.
got lost on way to pick up sister, then managed to fall in the pouring rain on slick pavement. picked myself up, suit filthy, and didn't really realize how much pain i was in till later. took today off work - arm and shoulder needing to be rested up. didn't get up till 12.30, after letting work know at 7.30

    I seriously love this comic.

And it's been a great couple of days off, now I start my personal work-week -- head in for "Monday morning" in my schedule in four hours. Friday-through-Tuesday, that's my work week.

loved loved loved Kait. I have a thing for serious people. Her expression on the second panel of page 2 is priceless.
good timing on the recap...aand I still want Paul's brains for dinner. bastard.

Week's been shit. bad case of sinusitis, getting sleepy on meds forgetting to eat and almost blacking out while on the bus, is not so much fun as it sounds.
at least i got to skip a day's of work and spent a night playing assassins creed. : D G
My days of a casual smoker are probably over. I wish for a better world with anti cancer traits and no sinusitis.

Next thursday i'll have to hold a microphone and talk about the non existing brazilian comic market in a small superman-anniversary themed event. That wasn't a very good idea. It's the first non-anime comic event here and people are already complaining about it in local mailing lists.

since I started reading freakangels though, every friday makes any shitty week look a little brighter.

Warren your post about your daughter was hilarious, she sounds terrific. I think my parents could write something similar about me years ago, only they don't even know how to turn on the computer. Lucky me.

a nice weekend to you and your family and everybody here, i'll spend mine sleeping and getting ready for the rock throwing mob...

    She... is... the law.

Loved KK's portrait best of all. Seemed to me that it caught her attutitude perfectly. Plus the cup ring just seemed to pull the room together. Humble suggestion: portraits as pin-up pages in the print edition of Volume 2?

Right now I'm listening to Lateralus on vinyl and attempting to get my spine to straighten out. I spent most of the week negotiating for school money and writing on my phone. Still wish I had a bluetooth keyboard. Anything more than a few hundred words makes my thumbs sore...

It's been a week. And quite the morning. Noon now and I'm contemplating going back to bed. A mistake, to be sure. But the roommate did wake me up screaming in the middle of the night. And then some guy called with maybe a job but wanted to slight me on the pay and *maybe* make it up if I rewrote my resume. Yea, and verily on this day I am naught without that elixir of life, coffee.

I need a bloody job. Meantime, Freakangels returned me to a state slightly below generalized misanthropy. Thank you.

    cool exposition

Just reading this week's installment made me realize how fond I've become of all these characters. That, besides the beautiful art, is why I love it so much.

Haha, that first scene is great, though. Man.

Nice and convenient that each Freakangel contains/embodies (for a lack of a better word) a piece of society. Engineer, doctor, police, ect. All the elements needed to keep things in order. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it - I am only on my second small cup of free cocoa.

(Car is currently in the garage, talking sweet nothings to her mechanic; don't even ask how that is going).

Week's been great, actually. One of my professors is in the Russia, so I haven't had to go to half of my classes. Score! I still had a killer exam, but life was ok. Gearing up for next week, with more exams. School would be better without all the tests (I'd just audit the classes, but I want that piece of paper).

Cool episode--digging how we're getting deeper into the characters. I agree that portrait versions of the exposition pictures would be awesome for the print version and same with LJ icons (if the artist is okay with it, of course).

As for me...better than usual, actually. I was kinda crashing when it came to my classes for the past few weeks, and now I think I'm picking myself back up--hopefully I'll pull my GPA back to around a 2.5 or even a 3.

When I got to the end, the words "Ro-bot Roll-call!" from Mystery Science Theatre 3000 kept running through my head. I eventually admitted defeat, because FreakAngels is a far more complex word than "robot".

As everybody else mentions, Kait is wonderful. I like the interaction between Connor and Alice. It's interesting, as though this really is the first 'normal' that they have let get close to them. They don't present old prejudices from past experiences, like I would expect in a story like this.

Just when you think Warren couldn't possibly come up with another wonderful character he does!

*Wonders how long it will be before people start doing Freak Angels cosplay*
