    (You will find this plea originally in 'The Self Portrait Imagethread')

    @EVERYBODY!

    Can anyone please explain to me why each time I embedd an image, that annoying red x pops up in the corner?

    Thanks.

    Yes.

    Your code looks like this:

    <img src="< a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/theonlyvoiceofreason/2593000057/" title="Playing GTA IV At Night by raymond.conlon, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3090/2593000057_39ddf08563.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="Playing GTA IV At Night"

    when it should look like this:

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/theonlyvoiceofreason/2593000057/" title="Playing GTA IV At Night by raymond.conlon, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3090/2593000057_39ddf08563.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="Playing GTA IV At Night"></a>

    or just

    <img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3090/2593000057_39ddf08563.jpg">

    I don't want to sound like a fool, but how do I message individual users? (Specifically Ariana to say thanks for moving my thread to the right zone...)
  3.  (4.185)
    Private messaging is switched off, permanently.

    You'll have to build a shrine instead.

    Do shrines violate restraining orders? Just... idly... wondering...
  4.  (4.188)
    I don't think they do, as long as you don't violate the restraining order to gather hair or toenail clippings and build it the required amount of feet away. If the person you're stalking happens to wander by and see a twenty foot high monument to themselves and you're nowhere around I don't see how you can get in trouble.

    Elizabeth, just remember: no prissy candles and stinky incense. If yer gonna make a shrine, you're gonna want to go with charred meat. Warren takes his well done and tear-seasoned, I like mine burned but still bleeding.

    Burned, my arse. "Grazed by candle flame."

    If there's a real FIRE, I actually prefer burned. Like a blackened but still-beating heart. OMNOMNOM.
  6.  (4.193)
    Still-beating is right. The steak you had at Morton's was visibly pulsing.

    That's right: STEAK. As opposed to the thick-cut chunk of jerky you ordered.

    ahh. this explains the twitters about FRIGHTENED MEAT.

    I have nothing really constructive to say, but a little context never hurts.

    Seeing all the meet-Up threads, is it maybe time that WhiteChapel had a regional chapter system?

    Or is that the sort of project that makes you want to open a couple of veins, instead?

    Thank you Ariana, I am new to White chapel though I have been a fan of Warren's work for many years now.

    Your guide was most helpful.

    See you on the boards,

    Just a quick question of clarification, directed mainly at Ariana. Sometimes when I'm signed in and I go to a thread I've been posting on, it will automatically jump to the last post before mine (or, occasionally, the last one I viewed--I think--if it's a thread I'm not posting on), whereas other times it will seemingly pick any ol' post to jump to. Am I insane? Is there some next-level thing here that I'm not aware of? Or should I just deal with it?

    Also, for photo-intensive threads, is there any way to put placeholders in so when I'm scrolling down the page (because of this inexplicable auto jump) it doesn't keep pushing the bottom of the page down? If there isn't, which is understandable given the varying sizes and sources of all these images, whatever, I'll just deal. If there is, though, would it be hard to integrate?

    You'll jump to the post immediately after the last one you viewed -- the first of the posts that are new to you (signed in). What you're noticing on image-heavy threads is the images loading and making the page longer as you're scrolling (because the text and posts load first, then the images fill in after).

    Yeah, I figured that was the case. Me and my instant gratification... My patience circuit needs rewiring.

    Thank you!
