...typing .jpg on the end of the page address is actually quite an inventive solution... but not quite, no. You need to have navigated to the address that really ends in .jpg. Right-click on the image and select "view image" (or the equivalent option in your browser). THAT is the url to use.
Ok, this is what I typed <img src="http://www.flickr.com/photos/maldoro/3046305494/.jpg>
If I haven't already committed Hari Kari for looking like an idiot infront of one of my F##king heros, what have I done wrong. The image is defn a jpeg.
This is some sort of Lovecraftian god messing with me for not calling his sister back that time.
If you want to use that as your avatar, you are going to have to shrink it - it's too big. Google 'resize photos' for plenty of sites to do this for you online, unless you have a program on your computer.
Ok kind and generous people, the corporeal beckons alas. Thank you for you're help. it is appreciated, I'm now just a little embarressed I can't get the thing to work for me, and my appalling spelling of course. Will be back tomorrow. Thankx again.
Success at last. My trouble was getting my photo's isolated away from other crap, just some resizing to do. Now we all know the level of my IQ, I'm sure you'll be looking out for me. Thankx again.
Should I do all my resizing before I post a pic, or is there a way to do that on 'preview post'? There seems to be an element of randomness in the size of the few things I've posted so far; mostly them being too small, or at least not as big as desired. Cheers.
@kmcleod: Go to your photostream's main page. Click on the image you want to post here. On that image's page, right click on the image (or however you get a popup menu on a mac, if that's your poison) Depending on your browser, the item you want will say "Copy image location" or something similar. A line suitable for pasting to Whitechapel's image posting dialog is now on you clipboard.
