You could probably pump the two feeds into yahoo pipes, mush them together and use its frankensteinien output into whitechapel.
It actually makes me a little sad that this isn't true, Henri. Generally, anything with "mush them together" and "frankensteinien output" is absolutely condition SUPERB. Unfortunately, the way we're grabbing from flickr requires the user ID to plug in to a pre-coded bit of intermagic -- so a Pipes mashup isn't going to work.
But, as ever admitting your being an idiot is the fastest way to realize what you were doing wrong. I was trying to associate a link to text without actually giving the link any text.
Just dropping by to say Whitechapel's design is superb, extremely easy to navigate and beautiful without being graphic-heavy. Absolutely no problems so far. Excellent work.
Reynolds, it's as Safari compliant as I could get it on my PC. As far as I know, all the posting and viewing should work... and that's about the best I can do there.
Ariana, Yep, posting and reading and even the Market are all functional - it's just that front page thing. It worked previously, but now seems to have stopped working for me. I'll take a look at it with my Windows machine tomorrow.
What *appears* to happen is that if I try selecting the 'Remember me' radio button it just resets itself to a non-logged in refresh to the main page.
Ah, the sidebar login (which is what I suppose most folks use) works fine - it's the login page you get from the link in the top right of the main page that is broken for me.
(And yes, it took me *that* long to spot the sidebar login).
Not sure if this is the right place for bug reports - there's a bug in which people don't show up in the chat sidebar, but their comments in chat show up just fine - seems to be not specific to platform/browser. Sometimes (but not always), the invisible person logging out and logging back in solves the problem.
Steve, it's just a refresh/connection glitch with Gabbly. Not really anything to be done for it, and, as you noted, logging out and back in tends to fix it.
I think you put the link to the video (in your browser window) in the box that pops up when you pres the video/mp3 button on the top. Just the link though, NOT the embed code from you tube. Ariana?
This forum is really nicely done. I think I am going to get a lot of mileage out of the RSS feed feature on my cell. That is just too neat. Great job Ariana.
I gotta say, the forum takes a bit of getting used to at first, but it's really cool. It's very pretty an aesthetically pleasing, and kind of...elegantly simple, in a way. Well done.
um... I'm really NOT computer literate. At all. It took me an age to work out you need to use a flicker site to put pictures on here. Is there an equivilant for mp3s or can you do it through myspace etc?
