My attempt to make the perfect Shadow and Margo Lane costumes for a friend and myself was thwarted by leaking batteries. Even without light-up signal rings (the apex of my electical skillz, pre battery-leak), we looked pretty sharp. Photos eventually, assuming the friend with the camera ever emails 'em to me...

That's a pretty amazing costume, Chip, but I'm really confused as to what you're putting in your mouth in that last picture.

My plan is to go as a sexy loser. I just quit my job, wear the same clothes four days in a row and eat uncooked spaghetti noodles.

    Yeah, costume...

    Halloween

This year will be similar to last, pictured above. Hopefully with everyone getting the fucking memo this time.

I'm the guy in the dead centre, by the way.

Last year I went as a zombie panda, it was awesome, I'm pissed off I never got any pictures.
This year I'm a bit unprepared so will probably be a vaguely steampunk zombie, going to the record breaking zombie attempt in nottinghams old market square. Waistcoat + pva glue on face.

I am a geek, I made a light up chest piece so I can be Tony Stark (from the movie, in case that wasn't pathetically obvious to all). I mounted the thing into a t-shirt, and it looks pretty cool. This has the advantage of being the most unobtrusive costume I've made in years so I should be able to drink without worrying about my costume coming apart. (Previous years I have been a ghostbuster, complete with theme-song playing, home-made proton pack, Wolverine with shiny silver claws that looked awesome but made it a bitch to drink, and the ever popular Zombie with prosthetics that did not want to stay stuck). I'm looking forward to it, pictures to follow, I'd assume (although I never have a camera so it will depend on others taking pictures of me).

Ever seen "Blazing Saddles"? Lili von Schtupp for Goth Christmas. Or at least, the fairest approximation I can get in a week.

    @Chip Zdarsky

Apparently we share a face. In other news, you look a little bit like me.

Beautiful makeup work on the burns!

My plan for Halloween is a corpse bride - generic black dress, black tiara with red bat-covered tulle for a veil, and dead flowers. Not the most original, but I'll be comfortable at least. My favorite costume ever was when I went as a mugging victim, complete with a knife going in my stomach and out my spine.

I've been putting together this Robby-the-Robot crossed with the Red Robot from Diesel Sweeties costume, but it's going to require a titanic effort to get all the papier mache'ing done by Friday - only got the head done so far! Might end up doing a robot head/Bond tux mash-up..

debating weather or not to go as the child eating tree again(this time with real children) as a bonus to that costume which is actualy just a prop tree we drunkenly stole from the theater back in highschool and painted black with red eyes and cut out a mouth, seems to always scare kids enough that they will actualy throw candy at it. So whilst being "a little old for that sort of thing" I do enjoy free candy and scaring both drunk teenagers and children alike. Ill try to dig up some pics.

I've been putting together a Harajuku girl costume, which is all about excessive details. It's clocking in at around 30 pieces, I think:

And I did a trial run of the makeup earlier this week:

    Halloween Makeup Trial Run

I need more eyelash glue, but it should be neat. I'll have a picture of the whole thing after Halloween.

AND @thewaltonsare: Cheers to teaching in gore! I wish I had the mental wherewithal in the morning to get grossed-up for my kids at school!

Every time Chip Zdarsky shows up here I feel dirty, like someone has touched me in a bad place.

Last year I hand-made a kick-ass skeleton suit and painted my face. This year it was just a cape and fangs, so I'd feel ashamed posting pics here.

Then again I looked pretty fuckin' great in that cape.

i'm going to be a glam rocktopus.

or, as i have to explain to people, "like david bowie but with tentacles".

This year I am attending Halloween parties as Groucho Marx, and my fiance will be going as Harpo Marx. Those are scary costumes aren't they?
