Do the books sold in England get sent from the US to London to get signed, then back to the US, then back to the UK to get sold? Or, do they just not get sent back to the US, or do you fly Paul and Warren out to sign all the books, or do the pages get signed before they're bound?
Almost... but it's actually more convoluted... the signature plates get sent to the UK to be signed by Warren, then back to the US to get checked by William, then back to the UK to get signed by me, then back to the US to get bound into the books, then back to the UK to you! :D That's a lot of miles... Hope you like your signed edition ^_^
I'm aware of both. I'm still not getting either one. ;-)
I think it's just the readability of hardcover for me... they just don't seem as portable. The day may come that I loan out the SC in perpetuity and I just buy the HC, but we'll see.
Ordered the SC; waiting on it (and some other things). I like reading it oneline, but there's just something about flipping through the pages of a new book that's nice, and reading things on paper is sometimes easier on my eyes.
I'm mostly getting it to actually have something to show off to people. I know the guys at the LCS don't read Freakangels, even though they voraciously consume other Ellis booty. So having something in my hands to say "See! This is what you're missing!" will be good. I'm looking forward to reading in one uninterrupted stream, too. No issue breaks to speak of, no cover splash/bleeds, just one big, long, beautiful store. And finally, since I'm still out of internet at home until at least December when we move, I'll need some reading material.
@warrenellis and/or Avatar people
I don't know if this has been discussed, but is there any sort of Back Matter-like material? Or is it just the comic, straight up?
yeah, have ordered SC and know that I'm going to spend even more dollars at the store. is good. 144 pages of happy lovely brain joy time. and some punching.
All versions of the HC are available to order direct. All the copies sent to comic stores are selling blindingly fast, so they may not be available for long. Remember, the HC editions are NOT going to be kept in print, only the paperback.
i didnt read this online because i was kind of giving me a headache and someone told me it wasnt very good, but i bought the trade when it came out (because a different trade i was looking for was sold out) and i really liked it, i think it was better than black summer and doktor sleepless and probably one of the best trade paperbacks i read all year.
i thought about reading it online after i read the trade, but i still cant get used to it, and it seems like the weekly udates although frequent, would be too small of chunks of the story. i think this trade is the perfect ammount of story to have in one shot and it a good introduction to the series and i am eagerly awaiting the next one.
