    Robots that can draw 1970's style art, awesome! It is pretty cool. I wonder why the choice of a quill and ink though, very low tech for something so high tech.

    Because it's humanoid robotics. What the robot is actually doing is not that impressive. It's basically a camera + printer but made to resemble a human and do a shoddy job with a primitive tool. The algorithm of taking a photo and turning it into a sketch and having the robot's arm draw it realistically (as in not back/forth ink marks a conventional printer does) is the most interesting thing about it.
