2007 was a great year for the STORE, we had record sales figures that are climbing every month.

for me, i work too much...which hopefully will get a little better

2008 should be great also, we are opening a second location and maybe a third, if so we'll be the first CHAIN of comic shops in Baltimore, MD, in over 15 years since the last time there was they all closed down in the mid-nineties.

Shit, Baltimore needs some comic shops.

    Can't say, really. 2007 was a topsy-turvy year.

Getting my shit together and moving back to Minneapolis was awesome (and I couldn't have done it without some very good friends). CONvergence (local sci-fi con) was not only incredibly fun, but resulted in hooking up with someone who fits my wants and needs very well, at this point in my life.

All in all, a pretty damned good year (stressful and massive changes, but hey -- I got laid alot!). I'm looking forward to this one being even better. I'm totally digging my 30's.

2007 wasn't a great year. Unfortunately the big high point for me was discovering that my inheritance from my grandmother's death was going to be enough to dig me out of the whole that trusting the wrong friend had put me into. (I'd feel more upset about that, except that my grandmother kinda died from 2005-2007, if you know what I mean. I'd been expecting That Call for a few months already.)

Second best bit was changing jobs - I'm 100% more involved and interested in my current job over my last one.

For me 2007 was a filthy year but a few things were good. I finally got proper treatment for my exciting and comical range of mental illnesses and even more importantly I got sober for the first time in about ten years. I also finished the first draft of a novel that I'd been threatening to write for about five years. It's a piece of shit and I'm probably going to have it sealed in concrete and sent to the bottom of the ocean but it's mine and it's finished.

I married an amazing woman and passed my preliminary exams. It was a pretty good year for me.

The fact the miserable year ended with no one dying. It was a close call for a couple of friends.

It was that kind of year where I expected someone to call late at night saying one of three friends was in hospital/dead. Since I've distanced myself from them slightly due to having a baby, I invited the three of them over on NYE to tell them I loved them, and that I hope they sort themselves out in '08.

Watching my two year old daughter grow and learn was soooooooo awesome. Between her and my wife I@m glad I've got a decent reason to get on with stuff. Hopefully when you ask the same question this time next year, I'll be more positive. My Open University Law degree starts in three weeks, writing essays for the first time in a decade is pretty daunting.

Ending a long term relationship in January and not falling off the face of the planet and getting depressed, but working my ass off for six months, then actually setting time apart for myself to get over it. As a result, meeting my new girlfriend*who is amazing* and getting a new job that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside at the end of the day.

Oh yeah, and trying Ayahusca for the first time. Out of my head in a way I've never felt before and coming away feeling loved. Yeehaw.

    Wife

I married her. August 11, 2007. Best day ever. Yay for me!
(She even reads comics and plays p&p RPGs!)

Best part of 2007 for me was that it ended. Worst...year...ever!

But on the other hand, it set up a lot of things for 2008, which could be my best year ever!

I finally started work towards realising an idea that has been floating around in my head since '05 what was at the start of the year a faint glimmer has now become 150+ kb of text (half of it composed on a mobile phone so I've no idea how many pages that is) with no signs of stopping, at this rate I'll have enough material to make actual use of by 09.

@ alter alias: Transfer the document as soon possible. All of the text. Before you lose it, or before the battery splodes in your fekkin' hand. Seriously, do yourself a favor. I had to talk myself out of killing myself when a draft of one of my comic scripts was deleted -- accidentally by me.

Getting to see my brother and his wife in May. That was pretty great. Not as great when I got to see them in December.

No one found the bodies! =)

... wait, where did I leave those damn things anyways... hrm... oh boy.
  6.  (415.37)
Visiting digital friends in real life Texas, finding long lost friends (unfortunately thanks to the evil of Facebook), becoming single again and the possibilities of 2008 all rank highly.
  7.  (415.38)
My new girlfriend and realising that she's the one.

Otherwise there wasn't much great stuff that happened in 2007. Found some great new bands, came up with some great new ideas for stories/novels/comics, but didn't really do enough work on any of them... Let's hope 2008 is better in that regard.

Getting sober and healthy and being in the best mental shape that I ever remember was the definite highlight of 2007 for me. Contributing factors were getting out of a job I hated and into one I love, meeting my partner, passing my driving test, getting my first car and making some proper progress towards being a debt-free adult. 2007 was probably the best year of my life so far in a lot of ways, actually.

Getting engaged ranked pretty high on the list of what has otherwise been a pretty dull year.

I also finally managed to put together a plan for finally getting out of this place and to somewhere where I might find some people to talk to who respond with something other than uncomprehending looks or thrown glassware. I'm either going to make it eight-more months or lop off my own hand to relieve the boredom. If my typing starts to suffer, you'll know which one I chose.
