    I am living in Austin, TX for the next month and have been busking pretty frequently for the last couple of weeks. If you live here and are a musician/cool person who likes beer and you see me playing come talk to me, I know almost no-one. I am generally playing mandolin and sometimes guitar, some of the time I am with a skinny guy who plays harmonica. I know you are here because I saw a guy with a Doktor Sleepless t-shirt the other day. Don't be afraid, although I may look like a frazzled, grumpy, hairy guy playing Hank Williams, but I am really a friendly, frazzled, hungover, hairy guy playing Hank Williams songs.

    I live in San Marcos, which is about 40 minute south of Austin. I don't get up to Austin terribly much because my thesis has swallowed my life, but welcome to Austin! It's a great town. :)

    I've been hitting up the Renaissance market on Guadeloupe and like 25th which was working pretty well for the first week or so and seems to have petered out now. I have been invited to a potluck tonight and will probably go seeing as I am broke as a joke, however I do like damn fine shows so keep me posted. Also, if you've got an suggestions for other good busking spots let me know, I've tried 6th street at night and the Drag and have heard mixed things about lunchtime at 10th and Congress but that's pretty much it.

    I'm not too well versed on the good busking spots around town. I've heard that the police are fairly unfriendly to buskers.

    Are you in Austin temporarily, or for the long haul?

    Well, I am going to be here for another month and then I have a bit of traveling to do, but I really do like it here and will probably come back, perhaps in a more permanent fashion. Also, most cops have been pretty damn cool, except for two who were obviously idiots.
