Yeah, that throw is pretty awesome.... it would definitely make my living room a lot cooler then it currently is.
I'm good, though I have to do three days worth of work today, cause I wasn't very productive that last two....
If I can just focus for a couple of hours, I know I can do the work....just have to focus is all.

good morning all...
I am just trying to make it through to next Tuesday at 2pm, at which time I will have finished this project that has haunted me for about 3 months.
then, at this time next week I'll be on a plane to St Lucia for a week of vacation.
I don't think I'll be checking in for a few days. -

I'm ok. I'm getting my lithograph print done today and then I'm going to the zoo with my mom so I can draw some animals. Apparently I need animal anatomy for my portfolio. -

I'm really not into doing anything today. My in laws are evacuated from the Santa Barbara fire. They weren't in the mandatory evacuation zone, but were really close and have been having health problems lately so they left. Their house is OK as of this morning. Still, it's been a scary and worrisome night.

Beginning the pre-move purge. All my Rolling Stone issues (minus relevant ones like the HST tribute, etc), most/all of my Guitar World issues, any deprecated computer books (Linux books, etc.), things of that nature. Still haven't decided what to do about all my old computer OS discs, though. I still have Windows 3.11 installers...
I should probably get on that soon. -

I'm definitely considering the throw, which when you combine it with the shirt I bought, the bag, and the trade, comes out something close to $100 I've spent on a comic we've been getting for free. And if you factor in the extra money I've spent on alternate covers of Avatar titles (something I don't do for any other company) it comes out to be considerably more than that.
This is a bit of economics that others should look at, I'm not advocating that struggling artists should just start giving away stuff, but Avatar has built a loyal following, by putting out work of the highest quality, giving away a little bit for free, and really communicating with fans. Therefore, I gleefully give them my money. It's an exciting model. -

I need to figure out what a good per word rate is for freelancing for a blog.
I also need a paper bag to breathe into because holy fuck.

Yeah, it's Web 2.0. Except, you know, working. As opposed to those silly "blogger" people.
In all seriousness, I think it's a big step for Avatar to really take the time to cultivate a following. Mark, William, Ariana, Ellis, and everyone involved in keeping Whitechapel running (not to mention the people at WC themselves...) all contribute not only to my buying Avatar books and merch, but to my continued support of other titles and studios. I really think they're a linchpin in a new industry model.
Although, I can't imagine this would work for Marvel. -

(trying to imagine it working for Marvel... shudder, twitch) Much as I love the concept behind X-men, not a total Marvel groupie. I don't think Avatar and Marvel attract the same kind of crowd. I'll stick with Whitechapel and don't think I'd even bother to read a Marvel version of it. Though the thought of more places like Whitechapel is a beautiful one. -
