Music: good music in Boston

    Howdy. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about what local Boston music is good. Run across a fair amount of good stuff, met a lot of cool people, would like to hear and meet more. And granted, if you're on here, you're pretty much cool. Or evil. Or both. So your opinion is at least worth a listen.

    The stuff I've been digging round this town:
    Cars on Mars
    kinda hippie jam fun good time beats funrock

    All of the Animals
    melange of world folkpop, danceable, great live

    The Good Reverend Jim
    you may have seen him around, he seems to be everywhere; slide guitar

    And of course, the Grasshopper Collective is that group of firespinners with gypsy music. They are awesome.

    The Everyday Visuals--Lush pop orchestrations, combining folk rock, electronica, noise, and indie rock into something absolutely spectacular.

    Also, though we haven't been playing very often, I'm going to take this opportunity to promote my own Boston-based act, The Roland High Life

    though I haven't seen them live yet: http://www.hallelujahthehills.com/ is just the ticket for the quirky indie rock kid near you. catchy stuff overall.

    I haven't heard of any of these bands, though this is understandable since I am something of a hermit, living way out in brighton and only leave my house for food, alcohol or work.
    good to see there's some good boston representatives on here, though both of you are pretty new.
