    Val just reminded me of Charonboat. Classic site...

    And just because I just found this:

    Jesus Fucking Christ. Where do I find a good headshot of Warren Ellis? I need it to put on my shrine, for he is my new god, my Internet Jesus. Only He can give us rotten.com and Zoetica Ebb ON THE SAME FUCKING SITE.

    @Val A Lindsay II: That picture actually made me laugh my ass off.

    I should be locked up. This is what happens to people who discover Warren's work at a very tender age, and then spend eight years in the very dark corners of the internet. Though my mind was probably already broken by then.

    I could probably make a hugely verbose case defending your laughter, but I think the truth simply is thousands of people dying from simple stupidity does add to the overall sociapathic disdain held for that part of society.

    I mean, seriously. This is somebody's biggest fantasy...

    How can I not laugh?

    I think this is mild, considering the usual morbid/pervert tone of this thread. Still, it's stuff of nightmares for me. Photo's not mine but a friend's, I just pointed it to him.

    My nightmares are very real

    The ants make better cities than we do (skip to 3 mins out):

    That is fucking amazing. Can't say I didn't need to see that...

    That's amazing. But what's it doing in this thread? It's not gross...a change for you...normally I have to scrub my brain out after watching the videos in this thread.

    @ Robin - that's actually an awesome tattoo, in both design and execution. Of course we could do without seeing the guy's spare truck tyre underneath it . . . . .
  5.  (4380.152)
    I love the depravity of the ant video. “The ants have built an amazing and complex underground city complete with a ventilation system. So we filled it concrete!”

    Surgery to treat Apraxia.

    Apraxia of lid opening is a condition in which patients who have otherwise normal eyelids have difficulty opening the eyelids. This is a problem in the circuitry for opening the eyelids, much like blepharospasm is a problem in the circuitry causing squeezing of the eyelids. Pure apraxia of lid opening (which is not associated with blepharospasm) is very rare. However, apraxia of lid opening is commonly associated with blepharospasm. The specific cause or control center for these disorders is poorly understood, but must be somehow intertwined. A blepharospasm patient with associated apraxia of lid opening will typically have spasms closing the eyelids and then for seconds after the spasm stops, the patient is still unable to open the eyelids

    Still nonetheless, ouch!ouch!ouch!

    This one is like - "noooo, please scoop out my eyes and rape the bleeding sockets instead!"

    Amazing, yes. What happens when they tired of humans killing them and decide to put their collective hive brain powers towards other things?
  9.  (4380.156)
    @Spiraltwist

    Don't they tie people down and cover them in a honey near ant colonies in places? :)
  10.  (4380.157)
    @Val A Lindsay II

    I've heard of that - usually in cases of adultery, they tie both parties down. The ants are biting, stinging things though, and not leaf cutters (not that they don't have their warriors!) <-- have to double check that later, running off memory which is polluted with microbiology right now.

    Actually, given the content of the rest of this thread, I was kinda expecting someone to get eaten...then I saw the Science Channel watermark and was disappointed...
