I don't know that there's been one particular album that I've been wearing out. Lord knows I have a ton of 'em I still need to listen to, including Chinese Democracy. I reckon The Gaslight Anthem's latest, and Bloc Party's A Weekend in the City are the only albums that I've actually been wearing out. Plus I've been on a pretty hefty Otis Redding kick lately, especially wearing out the tracks "You Don't Miss Your Water" and "Cigarettes and Coffee." In addition to all that I'm on a steady diet of random songs by Nina Simone, St Germain, Booker T. & The MG's, Coldplay, El-P, The Dears, Dropkick Murphys, Blind Willie Johnson, Louis Armstrong, Hank Williams, Gravediggaz, Ennio Morricone, The Cardigans, Stars, Spoon, and Zero 7.
The Proxy- Raven - Dancing in the dark - 40 seconds ZZT - The Worm mainly been listening to those songs and then a bunch of live mixes by Boys Noize, Justice and others
other than that what I hear mostly is my own music since I spend way to much time every day working on new songs or remixs
Aidan Baker - I Wish Too, To Be Absorbed (a 2 disc selection of OOP material) Flowering Blight - The Perfect Pair (Paul Barker, ex- Ministry doing what Al failed to do - not just make thrash)
Black Flag - First Four Years. Minor Threat - Complete Discography. Te' - "It Is a Thought to Try to "Sing" the Realistic Sound From the Deeply Resonated World." I love literal translations of japanese album titles. Reuben - Very Fast Very Dangerous. Metallica - Death Magnetic (Worst album title of the year? Very possible). Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run. Biffy Clyro - The Vertigo of Bliss. Envy/Jesu - Split. Curse the lot of you for telling me that this exists.
I just can't get Slipknot's Dead Memories out of my head.
And for those on a Monster Magnet trip I strongly recommend Powertrip - 17 Witches, Space Lord, I'll See You In Hell and other goodies. "Some people go to bed with Lucifer/And cry cry cry when they don't greet the day with God." "You're looking for the one who made you cry/That's not me/You're looking for the one who fucked your mum/Its not me."
i only ever owned or really cared for Monster Magnet's "Dopes To Infinity" album. they didn't grab me enough to keep me paying attention back in the day. now that i smoak moar, i'm fairly interested in what they have to say.
as a (mostly) everyday smoker, i always found it funny that i could never get into stoner/sludge...but anyways BLOOD BROTHERS-young machetes MARILYN MANSON-antichrist superstar CRISPUS ATTUCK-red black blood attack BOOKS LIE-its a weapon
