@RainbowBlight - Thousand Thanks. I'm glad you liked It. @Sobreiro - At first I wanted my Spacehawk to look like the characters in the Silverhawks (another 80's cartoon) but I finally skipped the idea. @Miranda - Epic!
My attempt. I liked the idea of how he was a darker side to Buck Rogers etc. I got a kinda lone gunslinger kinda vibe from that. I also wanted to slightly incorporate the old costume in the torn thrown over material.
Yes, I know it's badly propertioned and sucks ass, but I'm a writer not an artist lol
@ Andre: I think the colors are relatively true to the original in their saturation, and I like the gore. He seems a little gleefull, haha. I like his haircut and general design especially. ^_^ My feeback isn't worth much but nobody else was responding, heh.
@Oddcult: either I was at the convention where that... work... was first shown, or there's a really weird tendency for similar-looking bad fan art about obscure characters in dodgy 80's TV shows. But it couldn't possibly be the latter, could it?
Sorry so late this week; internet was down... Anyway, my SpaceHawk is similar to the themes of Man-Thing or The Shadow, in that each episode, he views an unfolding alien drama, and then at the end, vaporizes the planet that he is watching. He doesn't care about "good" or "evil", but simply watches, then vaporizes, and then floats to another planet to do the same again. My pencils:
@Andre: The armor design over the proto-uniform is solid and utilitarian. It's cool-looking and not going to be a pain in the ass to draw over and over, I like how you incorporated the 'Grim' Reaper motif. Also, obscene comical violence is always great, especially when its being committed by Ben Kingsley.
I imagined a human UH-60 helicopter, and tried to retain as much of the original characters design as possible. I have a ship and gun design sketched too. I'll get them posted up here . . . someday soon.
I just had a chance to check out the thread. Amazing work from everybody, especially from Axel Medellin, Kyle Latino, Felipe Sobriero, Jorge Munoz and Miranda. Miranda's is fucking berserk.
I've this odd idea for Saturday which I hope I can carry off - the above face was inspired by Mitchum but I'm just not as good at this as I want to be ...
Everyone is putting up some great work. Axel, IX and discontent 's are the ones that stood out the most to me, all for various reasons but these threads just get better and better.
@ Dapper Dan I really like your characters, just something very solid and well done about them.
