VAST presents Big Band SiXXX - Relay EP
New side stuff that's not supposed to sound that much like VAST, but it's pretty much just plain old VAST.

    Sonata Arctica - Reckoning Night
I rediscover this album every once in a while. Oddly literary at times, though the English is slightly broken more often than not. Overproduced so much that it creates a really neat choral feel.

The Sword - Gods of the Earth
    Metallllllll.

This year is ending much like it began for me -

Final - Dead Air (new album, but Final's had 3 ace releases this year)
Nadja - Trinitarian (I got everything they released this year all 13!)

    except for -

Flowering Blight - The Perfect Pair (this is totally wrecking me right now. Paul Barker is highly underrated)

Jaguar Love. Shit, the song ´Highways of Gold´ is a 3:39 mins of Red Bull with Vodka.

Repping the Big Dada / Ninja Tune vibes...

Roots Manuva - Slime and Reason
Wonky dancehall and sublimely insane lyrics about ice cream from the UK's finest rapper, bar none

Daedelus - Love To Make Music To
Daedelus goes all BMore / rave on your lily-white ass. Spectacular.

Diplo - Decent Work For Decent Pay

Every Diplo remix that has invaded your consciousness from the last few years. Poptastic and durrrrrrty. Buy it use it cut it load it!

All played while tooling about New Zealand in a Subaru with my girlfriend. Also have a mix CD of G'n'R, Rage, ACDC, Slayer, Pantera and Offspring (hers) which I am guiltily enjoying!

@Randroid: I introduced my friend to Immortal Technique. He once said to me "I've been really angry at everything all day and I've only just realised the reason. The alarm clock on my iPod woke me up by playing Immortal Technique songs."

Lots of Faith No More and Living Colour. I kinda wish they'd collaborated.

Islaja " palaa aurinkoon " ( fonal). Gorgeous stuff.

Sunn O >>> " Black One ". Arrived very late to the death/bllack/ambient metal thing , but like this a lot.

The House of Love "best of " , because it's been at least a month since I've played them.

Philip Jeck " Sand ". Again , took me a while to get round to him , but nothing says Christmas more than
crackling slabs of melancholy turntablism. Supposed to be dj'ing in Brighton on Saturday night ,
and am tempted to just put this on and sit in the corner with a a carafe of cheap plonk.

    @kernowdrunk:

Have you listened to Xasthur? He did some of the vocals on Black One, and his solo albums are great.
