Season's Greetings from FREAKANGELS, whatever winter whatwhat you're celebrating (even if that's just half-price candy canes on sale as of today).

And Happy Boxing/Stephen's/2TurtleDoves/Proclamation/5thor6thDayofChanukah/FirstDayofKwanzaa/AfterChristmasSale/HungoverLikeWhoa Day, Whitechapel. Have you all survived the holidays, so far?

So far, all the in laws are still breathing. I still need to make it to New Years day, however.

I just woke up, it's 71F outside, with the high today predicted at 82F. Yeah, it's frickin unseasonably warm. I plan to stay as far away from any shopping center/stores/crazy people as possible today (the cheap candy is tempting). I'm taking the husband to work (we've finally gotten the insurance settled and can start looking for a new truck for him). I plan to live on the internets for most of the day.

    How are you?

Happy Holiday-type-thing to everyone. I survived quite nicely, even managing to avoid the annual Christmas Depression I usually get hit with. Walked the dogs this morning, pleasantly surprised to find the weather as not too cold, which is great for Denver at the end of December.

I have to go in to work for four hours today, but that is perfectly acceptable. My wife is actually doing some temp work for the secondary company my boss owns and runs out of the same office, so we'll get to spend the entire day together today and then we have the weekend as well. All told, not bad at all.

    A lovely present there, Paul.

Been up for a little bit, 27F here, with a high of 30F and the potential for freezing rain here in Northern MN, and it seems I'm going to get drawn into the morning shopping, just to have something to do.

Have been making things tuneful, different, and unusual. Still alive and far. Blessed beyond all belief/measure/reason and possibility.

I has survived!! I am about to go walk the five dogs at my parents house (all are their dogs, mine pupper got stuck in montana). Well yea. No big holiday fights! A first... Boyf had back surgery so he's been recovering, quite well, but all the stretching they were telling him to do for chronic back pain/herniated disk was a lie, he had bits of calcified disk floating around and pinching nerves... stupid doctors. Ah well we have the bits in a jar...

Bwahaha. Off the dogs (and I) need to go walkies. I shall be back to my usual lurking... soon...

Gah...The road to the canyon where we're supposed to be staying is closed due to lots of snow. Which means that we're stuck in a little motel in the middle of Utah until it opens and we can join the family. The good thing about this is that I can maybe get some sleep because my cold is getting worse. Among the bad things about this is no car and no food within walking distance that I can tell. I'm hiding that chocolate bar in my purse for when things get really bad, and will recon the vending machines in a minute.

    Um, that's uh, pretty fantastic...

Are FreakAngels supposed to make me feel that way? Too much of the 'I did need to see that' thread, I guess.

Super-lazy, do-nothing holiday. Now I just have to tolerate New Year's day...

    'Toon cheesecake FTW.

It's bollock-raising cold here in Velcro City, but I've got the day to myself and I'm still fuelled by the heavy feeding I was given by a generous good friend yesterday. So all is calm, even if it's not bright (which it isn't; sun went down about an hour back).

Alive! Thought I would spend the day doing some college work but "lazy-mode" has kicked in.
Time to grab something to eat and watch some Gallactica episodes.

Happy whatever holiday you choose or choose not to celebrate.

and thanks to Warren and Paul for Freakangels and Ariana for Whitechapel, it's one of, if not the, best message boards on the net.

    Happy Holidays everyone!

Lots of snow here on the west coast of Canada. Well, lots for us anyway. About 50cm so far and another 10cm expected by tonight, along with 90km/h winds. This is the snowiest holiday season I can ever remember and it's made traveling anywhere a nightmare. Thankfully, I don't really have to go anywhere anytime soon.

I've had a really good Christmas tho. Close friends, family and LOTS of amazing food. I'm sure my arteries are not thanking me but I'll worry about that in the new year. And there is no way I'm going anywhere near any shopping centers today! I didn't finish my Christmas shopping till the 23rd and I just don't have it in me to go shopping again for at least a few weeks.

    Nice pic of Sirkka.

Made it through Christmas just fine. Brunch with the family (made easier by the bottle of bubbly I drank with my orange juice) followed by playing games with a friend and the wife until another couple joined us for California Jewish Christmas Dinner (aka Chinese food) to celebrate the other woman's birthday (also on the 25th). Then back to our house for wine and Settlers of Catan. SImple, calm, and easy this year.

Apparently, some boffin at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario has decided that employees at our government-run liquor stores DESERVE to get two days off at Christmas.(I've met these people. They do not deserve this.) So there is no liquor. Not even beer. Not until tomorrow. I hope they enjoyed their holiday because the first one that looks at me squirrelly will be disintegrated by the hate-beams shooting from my bloodshot, alcohol-deprived eyes.

Eyes that REALLY enjoyed Sirkka in X-Mas-themed lingerie. Rrrowr! (And maybe if we ask nicely, Paul will do a beefcake shot of one of the boys on the next off-week. A shirtless Jack, smoking a cigarillo?)

Woo!Boy! Although if a RL Sirkka were to move toward me like that I'd hear all manner of alarm bells going off in my head. Not that I'd stop her. Just that I'd know things would be painful the next day.

Holiday has been quite fine. No overwhelming drama, no one is terribly sick. Niece was an energetic bundle but nothing ended up broken, no tears or time outs. It's been chilly but I'm going take advantage of the considerably better weather (than NYC) and go for a long walk.

Though this house is strikingly lacking in real coffee and alcohol. Time to fix that.

::Jaw open::........Drawn things shouldn't inspire that sort of response from me! So unexpected, please put that in the hard copy edition.
