@nleavitt - Yeah, way worse. I really hope they bring Intelligence back, it's one of the best shows on television.

The problem with TRAILER PARK BOYS, as many have said, is that once you've watched one season you've pretty much watched them all.

It helps to have grown up around those people.

Huh. That reflects pretty badly on me, now that I think about it.

I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.
Not that badly ,my misspent youth was in Vancouver and it was a cross between TPB and Intelligence.
Being a pot dealer is quite socially acceptable in Vancouver(more so than working at a sawmill). It was a lot like a real industry if no one could tell time.

The Border sucked worse than the beachcombers comeback special.

There is a gang war going on in Vancouver right now just like on the show intelligence. It seems to be the traditional Canadian organized crime versus the Chinese like the
Big circle boys. There have been a lot of tit for tat murders with both Chinese victims earlier in the week and some italian drug dealer getting shot at his wedding reception less than a week after being let out of jail. So far the Chinese have done a much better job of not killing innocent. On the redneck canadian gun site I post one about 80% of the guys were in favour of decriminalizing pot to keep it from supporting organized crime.

All this talk of Canadian TV and no mention of Danger Bay?

When I read JPod I wasn't that thrilled with it, but seeing it as a sitcom makes so much more sense. That's what this story was born to be, and why it was unsatisfying all staked out in ink and pulp.

    Apparently JPOD has been cancelled.

Oh for fuck's sake. I was just going to dig this thread up coz I've been enjoying the series so much. Jesus fuck, what the hell?

I felt that they followed through on the tone of the book really well, not punking out on any of the more morally nihilistic bits that the book throws in more casually. The last episode ended with one of the main characters out of his mind on heroin, trying to give CPR to a bin bag, and that was THE PUNCHLINE TO A JOKE. It was a pretty great show.
