Don't worry, Hylian -- for about TWO MONTHS I couldn't for the life of me find it either. I assumed my browser didn't support it or something. Then I, ummm..... actually bothered to sign in to WC, rather than just lurking as a silent guest.... :P

ahh found it. the gadgets area can't be seen in the sidebar when you are in a thread, only from the main page. Deceptive.

Thank you for providing a chatroom. So far, it's been great. A few problems though:
1. you can't see if there are other people in the chatroom
2. it crashes occasionally
Once those issues are nailed down it should be perfect. -

Perhaps an embeddable IRC client, if there are any decent ones to be had? That would make the IRC people happy, potentially offer the use a choice of clients for different platforms. I'd love to have access to WC chat from my mobile, for instance.

Assuming the IRC route is taken, www.mibbit.com seems like a simple solution for those non-IRC savvy people who want to chat on IRC. Click link, enter chatroom.
Mibbit doesn't work with all servers though, so http://webchat.freenode.net/ is one solution if the chatroom's at freenode. -

At the moment the main problems seem to be an announcement that your user name is registered and an inability to see anyone who's in the room before you.
To get around it, try respelling your name with a letter chaged here and there and give a shout out when you're in there so others can reply, let you know if anyones there.
An IRC room would be nice. -
