While politics and religion are fun to talk about, they can cause, um, issues if not approached with respect. I don't see a problem with them being open game, but make sure that your approach isn't going to really upset people. A little upset = ok. Really upset = bad.

Oh, I've not used this before and it scares me. I'll give it a whirl when I'm in a different mood.

If the chatroom becomes troublesome it will be removed.

ALSO: people seem to be disturbed by other people saving bits of the chat. Listen closely: THE CHAT HAS AN RSS FEED YOU BLOODY IDIOTS. If you don't want to be logged, don't go in there.

    Good night, all.

Huh. I didn't realize that. Oops.

@Zarhooie Yeah, maybe politics is a bad idea. The quick response times that a chatroom offers would probably lead to a meltdown in minutes.

Politics has been the topic for 2+ hours and things remained fairly civil.

    True. It was quite educative.

Eh. Whatever will happen will happen. I suppose if things get too rough for me, I can do the adult thing, and (yaknow) leave the chat for a bit, come back later in the day when things have cooled down, etc. No harm done. I take back my request for a lack of politics. There is life outside the web and chatroom.

I don't exactly feel like rewriting the whole thing at the moment, but we had a short discussion on dialogue versus debate, you can check it out in the RSS Feed. It may lighten things up a bit and make the chat become friendlier (although the only experience I've had there was very enjoyable).

Seems self-defeating to decide what should and should not be discussed on the chat room. Half the fun of WC is that I have no idea what kind of threads I'm going to find and what kind of whacky topics folk are on about in the chatroom.

Not trolling here, but when I click on the Whitechapel Market I get a tiny Gabbly pop-up that's covered in Adult Friend Finder gubbins with nobody in it. It looks like viral rather than anything legit, or am I just being a tit?

Nice to see a board back up anyway Warren and Ariana. Looks great.

You're just being a tit -- it's an embedded ad. God only knows why Gabbly sell adspace to AFF of all people, but there is it...

What happened to this place? Twice today I dropped by and there was no one there. That had never happened before.

    Who killed it?

I've found that the room tends to be empty on Friday/Saturday nights. Maybe we're out drinking?

Friday/Saturday nights I work late, so I'm most likely not to appear until after midnight.
