I guess this is the appropriate thread to announce Weaponizer's next graphic novel, A Wicked Little Town. It's a Wyatt Earp story, written by me with art by the talented Keith Perkins. There will be a 6 page preview in the first issue of Weaponizer Quarterly in Feb and the graphic novel will start rolling out on Weaponizer in March. Did I mention it's Wyatt Earp? WHOOHOO!
If you would be so kind as to go and vote for us, that would be brilliant - we're up against the likes of Carkesworld, so it's a real coup to even be nominated.
Hey Bram, I've been meaning to ask you, have you thought about adding an author/story search function on Weaponizer? It can be tough to find specific entries.
I'm kind of excited: my new prose serial, WORKING CLASS PALADIN, starts on March 10 (help me out on the date if I have it wrong, Bram) with the first installment, entitled "The Meanest of Times". I hope you guys dig it; it's a story that's been incubating for a long time now.
I'm putting together a quarterly magazine at the moment. It's super, super late, mainly because I've had to teach myself InDesign all over again. I'm nearing completion now - just after a few illustrations. We already have some great art and text from Mo Ali, Andre Navarro and a bunch more Whitechapelers, which is great - Weaponizer would not survive as a site (or indeed as a magazine) without you guys! What I am looking for now is some illustrations for stories that don't have any art yet. Is anyone up for contributing?
The first thing I need is a monster. Here's what it looks like:
"It resembled a balloon made of meat, expanding and contracting as if breathing. Long, vine-like veins became visible when its body swelled, the raw red flash stretched thin and pink. Its bottom was a writhing mass of red feelers ending in wicked bony barbs that grasped mindlessly around it."
All submissions gratefully accepted and considered! Thanks folks, I look forward to sharing this magazine with you when it is finally finished.
Nice one Mike, thanks a huge bunch! Would be an honour to feature you. I can email you a list of what I'm after, or will keep posting the descriptions / briefs here.
