I have been a fan since I read Wetware for class on Cyberpunk (the best class ever offered to fufill the literature/english elective requirement). I have had Postsingular in my read pile since I saw a review on Boing Boing. I also really enjoy his non-fiction. While I couldnt quite get through Infinity and the Mind, I really enjoyed The Lifebox, The Seashell, and The Soul. Warning, there is math involved.
You can get your I Love Rudy Rucker t-shirts on amazon here:
http://www.amazon.com/I-Love-Rudy-Rucker-T-Shirt/dp/B0010JGNWY/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&qid=1196808701&sr=8-15

Many thanks for the heads up, though I feel a bit rotten just downloading it and not donating money (I blame Radiohead). Perhaps I should buy a t-shirt to salve my conscience.

Will it be better than White Light? That's the archetypal brainmelter. And will Michel "Greatest living Frenchman" Gondry ever get to finish his adaptation of Master of Space and Time?

Heartbreaking. I just did a little digging and I gather he's still looking to work on a Rudy Rucker adaptation, with Daniel Clowes as screenwriter. If only it were White Light! Though Gondry's low-fi fabricated physical effects would be hard-pressed to express a larger-than-infinity reality.

My understanding is that Rudy has embraced the CCL is because if you make some of your work is available to the masses for free, they will buy some of your other work that is available in book form. I just linked to the T-shirt because I thought it was pretty cool. All of his fiction is about 10 years ahead of every thing else out there, all full of crazy ideas... many of which have/are happening, and has never been marketed like his peers. Just as Cory Doctorow has made everything available online for free has caused me to buy his books as gifts (because most people will not read a book online) he is trying the same thing. That being said, I highly suggest that if you like Postsingular you should track down any of the Wet/Soft/Realware books and his collection of short stories The Hacker and the Ants.
For another great free ebook download, I recommend Vernor Vinge's Rainbows End, available here:
http://vrinimi.org/rainbowsend.html
Jerry

jerrywenner, thank you for the links. I'm eager to try the Richard Kadrey for starters. I agree, gestures like this are not just profit-killing benevolence, but I worry that I won't get around to buying any more of his stuff (unless he keeps the Postsingularity sequel off the net, in which case well played, Mr. Rucker). That said, I've had to buy three copies of White Light due to clumsiness and absent-mindedness, and I've got a couple of the Ware books, so he's already been lucky enough to get 13p or whatever his royalties would be for that.
