   No spoilers right now, but this show is turning into the TV version of Tea Wine. It's brutal and horrible but it still makes you drink it all the way down to the very dregs, no matter what it's doing to your insides.

   Non-spoiler reaction: yes, that's Battlestar Galactica, folks - the feel-good show of the year!
   
   Highlight for spoilers: All I want to know is, how long were Tigh and Ellen doing it without noticing that either of their spines were glowing? =)

   I actually started watching it yesterday--saw the recap show and a whole bunch of last few episodes on their marathon. Someone on another forum said it best by calling it "triumphantly bleak." Definately an excellent hour of television, and I feel like a fucking idiot for not watching it sooner. Oh well, DVDs, here I come.
   
   @CamyLuna: Oh, I think there's bits of hope too--but from the looks of it, they'll probably squash that too.

   This is one show that makes me look forward to the commercials so I can get a break from the unrelenting sorrow. And yet I still watch it because it's a great show. Horrifyingly bleak, but great.

   I also just discovered it yesterday. I had, up till now, written it off as "scifi channel = fail." Then I happened to randomly catch some clips during their marathon yesterday.
   
   Now I'm completely hooked.
   
   It sure is bleak, though. Grim Meathook Future, without a doubt. I'm loving it, though.

    Everyone is crying. Another genre show drowns in it's own tears.
    
    I think by the end it's just going to be one long panning shot of every chraracter weeping and cutting their wrists while "The Cure" plays in the background.
    
    Although, Drunk Admiral Adama could be all kinds of fun to watch.
    
    And because I'm a mean old fucker

    Apollo's wife blowing her brains out, after all but donning a sign that says "I AM SUICIDAL!", just made me laugh.

    Man, I had constructed a plausible, elaborate and profound theory of what was going on and who was who - and in one episode back they casually blew my whole pretty card house away! The thing is, you can see, SEE that the writers are winging it half the time, that they've never had much of a clear idea what is going to happen next themselves, or where all these plots are headed, and yet, they STILL manage to make it all work.
    
    It's like watching 7 drunken clowns walk a tightrope at the same time, and none of them fall off!
    
    I am going to really miss this show when it is wrapped up. But I am so looking forward to the end. I doubt there will be anything like it on TV for a long time to come.

    Bleak as hell and only getting bleaker. We barely even get the tiny glimmers of hope that keep this show's humanity moving. Admiral Adama's speech was fine, but it was no "So say we all" and Acting President Adama Jr.'s speech happened off-screen. All we get to see are the suicides, the near-suicides, and the confusion from which several of the characters can't get no relief.
