Since this is a BG thread wouldn't it have been better for you to have said:

"I WAS TRYING TO FRACKING CARE I"M FRACKING SORRY "

Anyway, there is no need for this Felgercarb here..... : )

I think Ron Moore is having some fun with us all.

-The only person capable of explaining the metaplot has suffered major brain damage.

Think about that for a second.

-The doctor treating him? Played by a gentleman whose media persona is a "resident expert" who makes up, hysterical, nonsense.

This show has not jumped the shark. It has turned into the sharked and is busy eating itself.

    @ DarkKnightJRK

Well, she did have the one Scotch that we saw. It's possible she was getting soused over the course of the other eighteen months or to the point that it caused brain damage.

More than likely, though, orwellseyes was referring to Anders, who had a bullet in his actual brain. Though of course I could be wrong...

I think it's kind of funny that in all the talk that I've seen about how the Five got to the colonies, and why it took them so long, 'relativistic ship' never came up. Simplest, fairly logical solution, and completely ignored.

That was a great choice. Nothing unthinkable, or insane or crazy. Just a simple solid "oh, yeah ok - that make sense."

I think it is clear Ellen knows everything, with the possible exception of "what the hell is Starbuck," though my guess is that answer will tie into the research program discussed by Anders.

I have to go back and read a summary most closely, but I think my speculations from a few screens ago about the origins of the skin jobs and their relationship to the toasters is being borne out. And possibly what the heck Starbuck is, as well. I predict it will turn out that

after they finish putting Ellen in the Aurora Chair through brain surgery, they'll find out that she left the original resurrection equipment working on Earth, and all they have to do is go back and get it. Starbuck is proof that it is still working.

But the 13th tribe were all Cylons, right?
I think the idea that Daniel (7) is Starbuck's father, which I saw posted...somewhere, is spot on. Making her the first half breed. Though why that would rebuild her Raptor or Dog tags....

    That's less of a problem I think:

I mean, if you have perfect biomechanical duplication machinery, I assume it is trivial to produce clothing and equipment that way as well.

    @Stygmata

The interesting thing is I think it is clear Starbuck wants to a Cylon at this point. She has made peace with it re: Sam, and if she is a Cylon then she resurrected and is still actually who she thinks she is. Not some copy or fake who just thinks she is Kara Thrace, but the actual Kara Thrace in a new body. Moore and co have said she is not a Cylon, then have not said, at any point that she is not a half-breed.

Honestly, I also have to say cheers to the last minute possible redemption of
    Boomer.

Every other character who has gone down a path like that has had a chance to make it right, to make up for it.
I did not think that character would get the same shot.

Might also make it a good day to be the Chief.

I think we can also sort out the plot the BSG: The Plan, the movie that is airing in the summer I think, very directly at this point. Since "John" may have told us the entire plot. And Jane Espenson wrote both.

I can't use the hide tags because it would just hide my whole post, so DON'T LOOK HERE if you haven't seen the latest episode...

after they finish putting Ellen in the Aurora Chair through brain surgery, they'll find out...

She & Boomer escaped, right? So no brain surgery.

Over all I was a little underwhelmed by this one, though I think Anders was great in it, and I love the new Ellen! And Cavil's big speech about how much he hates being made of meat was really good. (Though I kept waiting for him to say "You know what I really hate about humans? The smell.") Over all I think the backbone of the Cylon plot works, even though you can tell it was constructed as it went along over the episodes, and has mostly been finalized in this last year. Still, it feels sound, and I think in the end, thinking about the series as a whole, it will cast a completely different light on the early episodes and make it about something completely different than what we've thought it was about all along.

But, coming after the knockout punch of the mutiny episodes, it was definitely a lower key, more awkward one. Not bad, I liked it, but it feels like it's on the downslope to the end, not ramping up to the end, you know? I'm wondering how the last 5 episodes will play out. Will we get a second, final round of knockout increasing tension, or will it just coast in?

Partly its that when the Cylons are involved center stage, oddly, I'm less engaged than I am when its people in the fleet fighting each other. I guess I haven't made an empathic leap to the Cylons yet, even after all this time. They work as an outside threat for me, but I don't get as wrapped up in the story when it is about them and not about the humans (or the ones we thought were humans).

And man, this was just a big infodump of an episode! I've been going over it with friends all day today, trying to make sure we got all the details. After all the sifting, here are the mysteries I think still remain:

    1) What is chip-six? We still haven't had any explanation for what is or isn't going on in Baltar's head.
    2) What is Starbuck? Still a mystery.
    3) What was going on with the temple on the Algae Planet? Still a mystery that even Ellen doesn't seem to understand.
    4) What was up with the Eye of Jupiter? Still no explanation for why Starbuck has always dreamed of it, why images of it were on the algae planet, what happened to Starbuck in it and how she got from there to Earth in the first place.
    5) Daniel? Another one?
    6) Why did Roslin, Baltar, Six and Athena share that vision of the Opera House?

A lot still remains to be resolved. Any remaining questions I've forgotten about?
