Yeah but Adama killed Zarek and Gaeta because he had to.
It is also implied, via the Baltar scene, it was after confession or trial for murder/and or mutiny. -

I don't think Daniel is Starbuck's dad. This from metafiction thinking...based on Moore's comments on the last podcast (yes, I did listen to it), the backstory of the 7 came pretty late in the actual series, and I think they've known what Starbuck was longer than that. Also, they've made a big deal about the special-ness of Hera, even to go so far as to eliminate the Chief's "son" as being a hybrid, that I don't think they're going to go there with Starbuck. The Tigh/Six child was mentioned in the podcast as having a "not so happy" conclusion, so I'm thinking that's not going to play out either.
Also, about the Daniel linkage to "Caprica"...Moore refered to this reference in the podcast, and I'm guessing that Daniel was named in honor of Daniel Graystone, not necessarily made by Graystone. -

Possibly the case. But that assumes they have kept the "truth" about Starbuck consistent while the rest of the plot has moved with development. -

Exactly. With everything on the show pretty well interconnected, it seems like it'd be difficult to alter on major thing without making changes in other things. As I recall it, the big reason they put in the "Final Five" was that they realized that Baltar would reasonably be exposed to all the various Cylon models. So, they put in the "Five" to answer (or at least delay) that question. -

Who said that Daniel was boxed? Ellen and Cavil discuss ho9w Cavil destroyed all of Daniel's copies and corrupted the genetic code so that new ones couldn't be grown, but nobody mentioned anything about Daniel being boxed or killed. What if Daniel fled to Earth instead? And while there he learned some of the secrets of procreation and resurrection from the space station the Five used. And along the way, he might've met the "angels." Perhaps he designed Starbuck as a 9. And left that template in the resurrection computer too allow Starbuck to resurrect once she arrived in the Earth system. He could encode instructions as visions in her brain. Then he went to the Colonies and began a relationship with Starbuck's mother eventually using a stealthy artificial insemination to put Starbuck into her womb.
In the meantime, he might also have put something like nanotech into Caprica Six, allowing her to pass that nanotech along to Baltar when they had sex. And when Caprica died, her resurrection would trigger Baltar's "headsix" and her "headBaltar." As for Daniel himself, who knows? Or really cares? Daniel is felt through his actions, not necessarily his physical presence. -

That would pretty much explain most of the questions right there but so far Moore and Co. seem to be going for the simplest explanations. So far but i like it. Whatever the answer Starbuck was clearly unsettled when Anders said "Daniel" and i like the fact that even though we're in the wrap up to the show they're still throwing stuff out there. -

First, I think you're being unnecessarily snotty in your comment to me. But since you say that you value "crystal clarity," I'll attempt to give that to you in the rest of my comments.
Secondly, the sentence, "I'm guessin' that after Daniel was boxed, they created a new #7: Starbuck," contains two elements. One element is that of theory, the other is an apparent fact related to your theory. Your theory in this sentence is that Starbuck is the new #7 who was built to replace Daniel. The fact portion of your sentence is "after Daniel was boxed." Based on the syntax of your sentence, you state that Daniel has been boxed and go on to theorize that Starbuck is his replacement as number Seven. Had you wished to indicate that both portions of your sentence were part of your theory you might have used a sentence like "If it turns out that Daniel was boxed, it may be that Starbuck was created as his replacement as number seven." -

Y'know, "most aggravating moments" might be an interesting topic in itself... -
I don't know. It' hard for me to think of specifically aggravating "moments" as such. There were episodes (Black Market) and storylines (That wierd Lee Adama/Dualla/Sam/Kara square romance thing) that irritated me, but I can't call to mind actual moments.

And the worst bit about that silly storyline is that they killed off Dualla, who was the least irritating of the bunch. Still, that sort of frees up Kandayse McClure's schedule (though the show ending would've done that anyway, I suppose). It's probably way too soon to talk about this, but I think McClure would make a wonderful Caz in a Freakangels movie. -

Now that I think about it, the things that aggravate me are more trends than moments - like James Callis's tendency to overact. He's gotten to the point where bad hygiene and a collection of spastic nerve twitches seem to pass for acting. A little subtlety would go a loooong way. -

OK, not as strong as the last few, but important connective tissue:
American SF is obsessed with the other/self dichotomy. American fiction is weighed heavily by it. BSG has been, often enough, held up as a symbol (I said this above) by it's critics of this trend. it is clear the end of the show is going to be a repudiation of the same, I theorized that was the course it was taking above, and now I am even more confident. Robots and AI have been the constant standard of the other in SF, it is great to see BSG tear that down.
Though, I do warn people, there is crying in this one. -

The other theme, which is the essential redemption of nearly everyone, makes me wonder if we may end with the redemption of Cavil and his side, not their bodies floating in space. The part of me who is impressed with the chocies they are making loves the idea.
The rest of me wants one last massive fucking shoot out.
