Are they in? Okay, jumping over there now to have a look...

Very nice. Getting close to 45fps on Cormac and Ashvasta.

Finally, somewhere I can use my surfboard...!

    Ha! Have fun, Warren. :)
(and anyone else that wants to drive/fly/hover/surf over the blank slate of a sandy sim. You're all welcome to do so.)

I'll have to try out some of the vehicles i have when i get back home :)

    whoo hoo!

People driving all over the northern Barrens right now...

High Mesa on the southern end of the sim is looking sharp. I did a few flybys last night. It's really coming together and almost begs to be explored.

Thanks, hank. I appreciate it. One of my hopes for the place is that it'll be multipurpose...combat, racing, roleplaying, exploring.
Soon, I'll need to finish digging out the stone structure on the shore of the saltbed so it can serve a role.
    ;)

frenchbloke: i was admiring those ruins last night. re: driving range - will the golf balls explode on impact? that might make me take up golf

    Oh yes. Yes indeed, frenchbloke.
(adds it to the lengthening To-Do list)

If any of you ever see me digging around in Cormac, feel free to say "hi".

Had a nosey around Cormac - looking good so far. Love the Cabeza Muerta arena.#

Just now dug out this thread again...Thank you very much, synthsapien! I hope to begin hosting events there for folks to play. Need to make some freebie jerseys (skins and scalps) and some dirty old socks pulled up to the knees to look ridiculous and old school NBA.

Also, there are now Hang-Gliders at the top of High Mesa in Cormac.
    Just Right-click and choose Fly.
A new one rezzes in its place 15 seconds later (so a bunch of people can be gliding at once)
Loops can be done (even if SL's camera seems to flip oddly cause it can't follow thru the loop)
Upon getting off of the Glider, it will delete on its own.

Special thanks goes to Makaio Stygian for tweaking and fine-tuning the freebie basic airplane script it runs on.

    Oh, what a good idea.

No danger of being hit by one of my ridiculous flying machines right now, either...!

No problem Steven, sounds like the arena will get busier! Why not make the uniforms a cross between NBA and Mayan warriors? That could look interesting.

I'll give the gliders a go later.

Indeed, i had considered that synthsapien but i feel i need to back off the Mayan aspect of it for the sake of the sims' post-apoc theme.

But there is a tribal element to it all with regards to the history i'm slowly attributing to Cormac even though it's not yet explicitly evident. The region was formerly occupied by two warring mutant clans (split from a larger tribe for specific reasons)...they would either wage open ware between their respective retro-fitted cliff dwellings or they would settle their disputes at the ball court. Now that i've "uncovered it", the Wastelanders simply come in to use the abandoned court for themselves and their own way of playing the game (thus the Basketball model for the sport instead of a more elaborate volleyball/soccer combo as the Mayan game was originally played...to make that will take some further future work and some custom animations, but it's low on my to-do list :D)

A new Openspace/Void sim arrived yesterday for the Wastelands.
The Open Wastes: it's west of Cormac and south of the other recent addition, Hambone Slash.

Hambone Slash is one of the dev sims, owned by Makaio Stygian. It arrived last month or so, but i've been away for awhile and hadn't posted about it.

The Open Wastes will be a joint effort between 4 Wasteland residents: Ironblood Mechanique, Jubal Quintis, Facemelt Loon, and Kezz Mauriac.

A special place for the sim queens!
