I had some, given to me as a gift some time back. Quite tasty, if I recall.

The BaconSalt guys have also now come out with Baconnaise, with which I was graciously supplied by a Libby when she was back here over break. Guaranteed to up the awesome of whatever you put it on.

Interesting experiment? This weekend, I tried a veggie burger (Morningstar Griller Prime) with bacon salt, baconnaise and Baco's. AMAZING. It's all vegetarian too, and I believe save for the burger it's all kosher as well.

ive never seen bacon at a show...ill keep my eyes open.

bacon is delicious, but it is one of the few bad-for-me foods that i actually have willpower to resist, so i havent had it in months.

There's a BBQ bacon 'n' pork sausage roll recipe out there. You use two pounds of bacon and a pound or two of pork sausage.

You start with a bacon weave, slap the pork sausage on there, in a nice consistently-thick layer, and then put some fried bacon on top of the sausage.

Stewed tomatoes, I'm guessing. Tomatoes in some form were one of the standard ingredients in the "traditional Irish breakfast" (along with everything else on that plate - I'm assuming the yellowish item in the 11:00 position is the white pudding) I was served all over the "emerald isle".

Dates wrapped in bacon... wonderful spanish tapas thing

take dates, remove pit, wrap in bacon, pepper to taste and fry till bacon is crispy.

I am currently trying to find out how to put bacon into my TPN. (thats my IV food supply thing...) THe advantage, bacon directly into bloodstream. The disadvantage, less bacon in mouth. The solution: bacon in my TPN as well as bacon in mouth, that way I can ingest more bacon!

I use to make little bacon fritters...

Fry bacon with garlic until the bacon is cooked but soft. Wrap bacon around a small piece of cheese. Return to pan and fry a minute longer. You want to crisp the bacon but not lose the cheese. Remove from pan and drain for a minute. Coat bacon & cheese cubes in batter. I used french toast batter but you can use any batter you like. Deep fry or finish frying in the fat remaining from the bacon frying earlier.

I have been an involuntary psuedo-vegetarian for over twenty years and sadly, nothing can replace the sensual magic of bacon. On my death bed I will eat a bacon and steak hoagie, deep fried and served with a side of cream gravy.

I have driven over an hour (almost) solely for bacon. Some places around here do it up alright, but the best bacon I have found is used at Bob Evans. unfortunately, the two nearest B.E.'s are at least an hour away (west for one, south for another). But I am willing to drive there for it. Because it is awesome.

That's Sodolak's Country Inn near College Station, TX, where my brother has lived for seven years and where my sister just moved for at least four years of college.

My brother and his wife went to Sodolak's once and said it was great, though they didn't try the deep fried bacon. Living in northwest Houston, I might be one of the only guys on this board with the opportunity and inclination to try this place out. Anyone been there?
