    Don't mention Bacon

@baconbaconbacon does make a good point, though.

Seriously! Bacon should be a staple in trick-or-treating! In fact, if I didn't want to horde it all for myself, that's what I'd give out at Halloween.

Every time I eat bacon, I can feel my soul having a heart attack. Can't stand the stuff. I want to know who invented bacon. Was it the Americans? It seems like something they would do (or is it that bacon has molded America's existence so that it seems like something they would do? Chicken and egg type of thing?).

Nobody invented bacon, it has always existed.

Homer: Are you saying you're never going to eat any animal again? What about bacon?
    Lisa: No.
    Homer: Ham?
    Lisa: No!
    Homer: Pork chops?
Lisa: Dad, those all come from the same animal!
Homer: Heh-heh-heh. Ooh, yeah, right, Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal.

@Pablo - Actually, it depends on which kind of bacon your talking about. "American bacon" is made from pork belly, while the other kind is made from the back. At least, that's what Anthony Bourdain said on the Southern food episode of No Reservations.

    @ AlephNought & everyone else

Urban Dictionary's definition of baconpunk is pretty funny.

i'm making epic grilled cheese sandwiches (as mentioned in the january food thread)... perhaps bacon-inclusion may be in order?

I think "baconized" is a more useful verb than "weaponized".

    @FilmFan

Actually, I'm responsible for that. The name is not a coincidence.

Here's the LJ entry where baconpunk started (afaik).

All credit to Libby and Warren for making it more than just a local in-joke, of course.
