I do have pages on myspace, livejournal and ning, but they are hardly ever checked anymore.

Facebook i dislike almost as much as myspace these days. Not really in to playing in to memes or excessive applications, as they add unnecessary clutter to what is essentially supposed to be a giant rolodex. Myspace i find to be really cluttered and full of spam. Livejournal i don't frequent much anymore just because i stopped journalling to myself and decided i actually wanted to talk to people and do something about my goals, not just let them stagnate. Ning... i have an account there, but really haven't done much with it. way too many communities within communities. too much to keep track of.

Just the common ones for me:

MySpace - I think I only check this every couple of months now, found it too difficult to keep track of what other people were doing. Since I'm not as big a music fan as most people, it doesn't have quite as much interest for me.

Livejournal - This is just a feed from my main blog, although I use the Friends page quite a bit for various blog and webcomic feeds.

Facebook - This one probably gets the most use, for seeing what various friends and acquaintances are up to. It seems to be the new Friends Reunited, I've been able to catch up with a few old schoolfriends that I lost contact with years ago.

I'm on Flickr and Twitter, but don't really use the social aspects of them (just store my own pics on Flickr, and use Twitter to update my blog remotely).

I've probably signed up for a few other random ones over the years as well.

Had a MySpork years ago, then started a music one, deleted the first one because it was pointless having two accounts, then finally deleted the second one because... well I think it looked at me funny so I borked it altogether. I don't entirely recall what reasoning I had for doing that, if any.

MusoFinder - Sitting doing nothing, I think I've had 4 views in the month I've been on there.

MI7 - I've logged in a few times and found nothing useful, but have gotten a lot of email advertisements from them trying to sell me expensive recording software I don't need.

I'm looking to find a new one that is similar to MySchpamb, but not as stupid. I don't know if that exists.

I use Facebook mainly, which I have all my other little net things (last.fm, LJ, flickr, twitter) hooked up to anyway. When the apps are not crashing, that is.

Yeah, I don't mind it. I'd like the option to auto-ignore all those stupid fucking apps that people send you, and a little more stability on these apps I DO use, but I like it much much better than crapspace. I log in maybe once a week just to check my messages, that's about it.

5) someone friends me back and I rediscover the place
6) I give the place up as yet another nest of camwhores

the only place this hasn't happened isLivejournal, and that's only because it's what all my friends back in england use.

I visit myspace for nanoseconds at a time, just to talk to the three or four people I genuinely know on there. that'd be myspace.com/wetjimmy for anyone who genuinely cares, though I wouldn't recommend it.

Facebook has a shitty app called Human Pets that I use as a sort of sink hole for all my random bullshitting, in the hope that it'll allow me to act vaguely "normal" in all my day's other endeavours.

Beyond that, I've been active on a number of Australian musicians' fan forums - though since a few of those musos aren't well known enough to be household names, those have become largely defunct. Which is a true pity.

I use my LiveJournal account more than anything else, and my profile page has links to most of the other networks I've joined. I have a mild academic interest in social network software so I test new ones a lot. Otherwise, I probably use my music project's myspace page the most, substantially more than my personal myspace page that I generally log in to to clear porn spam out of and not much else.

Flickr - I tend to use my LiveJournal's Gallery for pictures more

Facebook is relatively recent - earlier this year, as enough associates of mine started that there was something interesting for me. A couple of days ago I started to set up a Facebook music page for my music work that is still in progress, I need to add more flesh to it.
I use LinkedIn for business.

That's pretty much the ones I actively use. Pownce was terrible, mash.yahoo.com had nothing, tribe I gave up on after the kerfluffle in 2006, etc. etc., etc.

I actually deleted my Facebook account today. There are just so many people adding me that I haven't spoken to in years, and for good reason.

The only bad part about deleting it was the two cousins that I had on my friends list there who I haven't seen in somewhere between 5 & 15 years. Meh, I've got the email address for one and I'm sure the other won't be too hard to get.

Facebook is turning into a "friends only" sort of place for me; ie, I use it to mainly keep tabs on folks I already know. I.e., free of pimping and announcements and blasting and whatever from, whatever. So I don't accept mosts requests that are obviously promotional (like your Facebook page for the book you have coming out). Myspace, anything goes.

That said, I really don't think about these things too hard, so if you want to join me on Facebook and I don't know you yet, just email me first or whatever.

Just MySpazz and FuckBake for me - I generally use MySpazz for online persons, although meatspace persons are also welcome there. FuckBake is meatspace only. I also have last.fm, though I don't use it for any sort of socialising, simply as a tool to monitor what I've actually been listening to. My stats are a bit buggered up, however, because it includes tunes that I have to learn for work and hence are played repeatedly (because I forget to shut down the widget) and doesn't include anything not played via the PC, so I'm considering removing it.

I'm on facebook but because back when I joined like 4 years ago it was what all the cool college kids did.

I'm on flickr but I have one friend and need to touch up a shit ton of photos in Lightroom before I upload them but friend me, I'd love to see what people on here come up with. flickr seems like the sort of social network with something of a goal I could get behind at least a little.
