The best way to start these things is to get everyone saying hello. So please introduce yourselves in this thread, adding a photo if you've got one (trust me -- the web works much better when people see that there are real people on the other end of a post).
Obviously, if you've said hello in previous Introduction threads, there's no need to do it again.
We don't insist on real names here. I find it helps, but, frankly, if you want to be a completely fictional invention of yourself, go right ahead. Hell, I've even known people who have started out fictional and then become their own invention.
Hey. You can all just call me Tonki. Few can be bothered learning my actual name. I'm fresh out of high school with big ideas and bright eyes. Looking to write for a living but needing a start. If any of you have any tips that would be good. If you want to join my mailing list (Awesome Reception. Sorry Warren I can't help but use a good idea when I see one :p) just send me your e-mail address. I normally send people people short stories or details on whatever other crap i'm working on.
Well thats enough of that. You all have a good day ya hear.
Hello. Just realized it might be best to introduce myself before posting more than once. my screen name is what I am, someone who talks like they know more than they do. funny thing is that I tell people that and they ask me questions about stuff anyway. I'm working on getting thru premed currently, with aspirations towards reconstructive surgery as a career. Came across freakangels because I really like Mr. Ellis' comics. Transmetropolitan made me realize that even though it seems like the evil people who run this world of ours are untouchable, like many fungi, bright lights and interference can kill them. I'm extremely glad that I read about spiderBeen following sgt-major gravel since strange kiss, thanks to my friend Will who lent them to me. I'm gonna try to get him on here too, but it's not his style, we'll see. got into the doktors stuff too, but I prefer to wait for a few books to pile up and read 'em all at once. cant stand waiting until next month. I am interested in biology, nuclear physics (quantum is for theists), and space. nice to meet you.
My name's brian, i have been living in england for 3 years now. studying animation..( although i cant draw) I came here through freakangels..love warren comics, and comics in general, liked a lot FELL.
I'm sure I didone of the first intro threads, but it's been a while since I've posted anything at all, been busy, so I feel I should introduce myself again.
My name is Joseph R Davies, I'm a so far unpublished (unless you count a short story in a University press anthology, in that case I am published I guess) writer bsed in Cardiff in Wales. When I'm not busy being mostly unemployed or doing 8 hours of work a week in my local Borders (I actually love it there, which is quite sad, but true), I work tirelessly on the comic that myself and my colleagues Patrick Montgomery, Drew Davies and Gav Mitchell are releasing later in the year called Zombie Death Squad (ask me how!). Anyway, aside from that I always advise people to ask me about anything else they want to know. Hi to everyone, again
Hi, I'm Luke. I'm a web cartoonist ("Moon Freight 3" is it's name), I'm a podcaster (with Nine Panel Nerds), a stand-up comedian, a writer, a blogger, a comic book fan, and a guy who likes finding out about new and interesting things.
Hey. I'm Shawn. I've been lurking lately, but I'll try to come out more. From CT, grew up in Cairo, college in MA, living in Brooklyn. My background is all theatre, directing mostly, but I spend most of my time now pretending to be sick for medical students or teaching them how to handle male genitalia. I write sporadically, including a webcomic, Lord Buttersnatch's Fairy Detective Troop, and manage a group blog about comics.
I'm a 35 year old widow who works as a full time caregiver, plays a lot of videogames and, as I don't get out much, spends far too much time on the internet. Comics and graphic novels and reading in general are some of my favorite things, and when working or goofing around on-line, I tend to have my nose stuck in a book. I also watch a great many cheesy monster movies.
Due in part to my current life-style I'm not exactly the most out-going of people, even on the internet... so I'm most likely to lurk around.
Hi, I'm Karl Christian. I'm a cartoonist living in Denver. I'm one of the artists for 'Modern Drunkard Magazine' as well as the writer/artist for Byron, currently being published by SLG Publishing.
You can check out my artwork in my online portfolio here.
I'm Jennifer aka Paegan. I'm a mother, fiancee, spiritualist (though not a pagan, per se), goth, club kid, seamstress, milliner, costumer, eBayer, Deviant, ULC Minister, gamer, science geek, math nerd, stargazer, epileptic on disability, pauper, and smoker. Sometimes I'm a Viccie, a flapper, a lolita, a pirate, a zombie, or a steamer. I've been a ranch hand, waitress, wedding planner, an office manager, an accountant, a community organizer, a stripper, a volunteer, a telemarketer, and an HR director.
I've been reading Warren's LiveJournal for a while, but I registered on the site after today's suggestion in "On Whitechapel Today".
Oh, and I'm fully aware I'm bad at introductions. I'm never really who I think I am.
I am April "Nunabutt" Cacioppo. You can find me in little alcoves under the stairs. Or writing with impassioned haste on any form of mass transit. Maybe even your couch if you're not careful. And yes, I tend to write first rather than type. There is something about the way that my handwriting looks scrawled out on white chunks of paper. Or that the ink stains on my fingers tend to accentuate the length of my hands. I am that girl who sits at the bar drinking too much, but will go on for hours about the rise and fall of civiliations and how we're staring at the horizon of our own downfall. I am the eccentric who writes down every thought even if it makes her late for work so long as it continues to flow.
I have two novels written that will forever live under my bed. They are manifestos I had to write for myself in order to reach the meat of my imagination and the story I wish to tell to the world. Which will more than likely saitate my subconsious mind.
I'm the Editor of ThinkingFluidly.com as well as the Triumverate (www.comicreviewers.com, www.gamingcraft.com and www.brokenpocky.com).
Hey, I'm Seej. The 500 bit is just an affectation because there's too many other bloody Seej's out there. Some of you may know me from my occasional comments on Grinding.be. Aside from Science, Engineering, and trying to figure out how I can get my hands on some budget Future, I also like making music (see the Feb 09 musicians thread) which I always intend to be poppy disco anthems, but which always turns out as something darker for some reason. Here I am, dressed to impress with my new friend the family-sized garlic naan:
Hey, I'm Evan. 22 year old university student majoring in economics though doubting the reasons I'm studying as I prefer to think of economics as a mental exercise rather than a complete science. I play judo, train JKD and am starting to learn escrima and arnis. I drink good beer, am going to start brewing my own beer this week and hopefully, in the near future, start distilling some corn mash liquor. I also read extensively from many fine pieces of literature.
