Feel slightly embarrassed posting this amongst such ridiculously talented people, but the first two parts of A Stalking Horse can be read here and here The next two parts should be finished within the month and to be honest I only really update it when I should be doing something else. Anyhoo...
My name is Bob Heske and I am the writer of the new vampire series THE NIGHT PROJECTIONIST which is being published by Studio 407 with film rights optioned by Myriad Pictures (Jeepers Creepers).
Studio 407 is posting a page a week of issue one on the web as a creepy noir web comic - think Creepy and Eerie with a dash of Tom Mandrake. Personally, seeing the story in black and white online gives the story a different dimension - and provides a more traditional gothic experience - than the full-color book. On the web is the only place you can see issue one in black and white.
Hope you enjoy the cover art and page one by artist Diego Yapura. For the rest of the story, click on to the web comic here.
If you like what you see in black and white, the full-color comic will be in stores by 2/25.
Best,
Bob Heske Writer, The Night Projectionist www.coldbloodedchillers.com
A Buddhist supernatural powers conspiracy thriller!
A man returns to Manchester ten years after disappearing from his girlfriends kung-fu championship fight. He has waged a bloody vendetta against the gangsters that set up the fight that resulted in her spinal injury. But no one knows this and his old friends are not happy to see him. Now he has returned more than just a man, more than just the scars of what he has been compelled to do. He has been possessed by the spirit of Buddha and can wield various supernatural powers, including the ability to gift powers to others. Gradually he draws his friends in closer and is shadowed by the other friends from his missing ten years. They are being hunted by telepathic agents of a secret government agency. He comes to the attention of some scientists who are more than intrigued by him and as events unfold he comes to realize that there is much more to his inheritance. Want to know more?
In addition to the ones I posted here, I just made two more PITCH BLACK strips. If I'm posting too much, please do delete this post. http://andrenavarro.wordpress.com/
Science Fiction setting. Right now, it's about the new crew of a freelance space ship looking for a job and mostly trying to stay alive. More definitely planned though. Updates on Tuesdays and Thursdays (or, uh, 2 or 3am on Wednesdays and Fridays) (need to find some time for banner and promo art)
brilliant. loads of stuff here i've not seen before!
and while i'm here you can see my comic: plan B, a tale of love, revenge and supervillainy. two parts out, the thrid should be finished by the end of the month. it's not a superhero comic. at least i don't think it is. i just condemned myself!
I believe every artist has a master, someone to guide and inspire you, and for me, the work o Bill Sienkiewicz was always that inspirational source, the driving force that lead me into comics in the late 80's.
Maybe one day, I still hope to make a living working on comics. :)
I make a comic by the name of Dark Places, which is somewhere in the genre of fantasy-adventure-horror - part sword-and-sorcery, part eldritch horror.
I'm currently about two-thirds of the way through the first minor story-arc, mainly concerning unspeakable entities and That Which Lurks Between The Stars. This is my first foray into sequential art or visual storytelling or whatever you want to call it, and I'm learning all the time.
I draw a comic called Tabloid, the story of an aspiring journalist who accidentally gets lost in a world where all the tabloid stories are real. Writtten and created by Tom Zjaba, the comic updates a page every Monday. 36 pages so far.
Firstly, I want to thank everyone who has shared their comics to this point. I'm going to really enjoy sitting down to check all these out when I get home from work. I can see my RSS Reader is going to get a workout.
About 4 months ago I started a silly project that's becoming not only an addiction, but something I MUST do. It went from 'Let me try this out' to 'I'm in it for the long haul' very quickly. I thought it would be fun to do a comic featuring some of the amigurumi my wife makes. The result is Amu's World.
An advertisement I made a little while ago:
I'm still VERY new to this, and while I do have some help from some webcomics friends I know personally I'm always looking for feedback on how I can improve things. Thanks for your eyeballs.
Love the flow of talent in this thread. My work's just launched after a year of pre-production and the collapse of my previous online comic. It's a lil slice of action I like to call "Nine Shot Sonata".
The basic premise is such: Essentially, everyone knows of the story of the convenant between God and Lucifer - that each would not directly interfere with humanity and let the worth of the race decide it's own end to see - at the end of all things - who was right; God, or Lucifer.
Obviously, Satan never held up his end of the bargain. That leads a group of Angels to take matters into their own hands and generally muck things up. God certainly can't do anything, as per the agreement. So the newly appointed angel of Death taps the only person who's capable of dealing with the situation: a Demon enjoying his last trip to the mortal plane.
There's a lot of fantastic stuff here! My brother and I publish a few comics under the name Cook Bros. Comics. What we are currently working on is a webcomic called Stick Shift. Stick Shift is a webcomic about kicking ass and racing fast! Think Mad Max meets South Park with a little Cannonball Run and you are almost there. It has cartoon style art but adult humor and we're having a lot of fun with it. Check out our site here or you can go straight to our Stick Shift Archives if you prefer. Thanks for reading!
