I'm the Oneiromancer. I write/produce/perform all instruments myself, as well as vocals, and perform live. I've opened for bands like VAST and the Dreaming.
I'm just starting to get a band together - so far it is me and one guitarist but we have a rough demo of a song I wrote called Bone Weather. We really want to be a touch more, you know, rock'n'roll than that. But it's sort of difficult when we are missing an ENTIRE RHYTHM SECTION. Anyone here happen to be a drummer from Sydney? anyone? Bueller?
A couple years ago I intended to release a double-CD collection (called "Cryptomusicology") of all my surviving music from about 1978-1990. I did some work on that project, but decided - based on my experience with these things - that I didn't really want to wind up with a closet full of them. And, I decided I was too cheap to set up a website and sell downloads, though that might still happen.
Instead, I'm offering a single CD of mp3s and artwork. Musically, it includes everything I thought I was going to put on the CDs, and even more (since I've recovered some more archival material in the meantime). Since the content on the disc is the important thing to me, the packaging is the most excruciatingly simplistic DIY production imaginable.
This is over 30 tracks of experimental and twisted electronic pop music - a world of tape loops, abused guitars, and cheap synthesizers - and one indescribable Fortean sci-fi spoken-word epic, with and a little artwork and liner notes you could use to recreate the double-CD yourself. If you're so inclined.
It's $12 inc postage (within the US), or $15 (outside the US). Email brentwilcox@yahoo.com if you're interested.
I have within me the powers and talents to play the Glockenspiel! Behold my Marimba! Cower at my Xylophone! Piss in Terror at my Chime playing Madness! I have pounded Propane tanks with the FURY of the GODS! Tire Rims whither at my hammer blow!
Satan's Monk - SM is my solo project, in which I record everything myself, and in which I play guitar live. Royal Monsters - RM is my band, in which I play guitar and write about half of the music with the other guitarist picking up the slack.
If you like Royal Monsters, here is a link to download our demo.
Other than that, I'm always playing/recording random songs at home from punk to country and hip-hop to hippie, of which I have compiled over 50 in the last few years. None of which you will be hearing.
My band, Gol Brix is finally moving along with our first two shows coming up. I provide backing vocals, inspiration, and dancing. We're also on facebook and reverbnation
It's a lot of bleeps and bloops with humor smashing into your skull.
One of last week's wave of songwriting, given quickie form: Do You Remember
Working on a string part for it (ideally cello and violin) to fill it out and have something in the middle and end bits. Also all that "eeee-eee-ee-eee" at the end is filler for the hypothetical violin. But I thought I'd throw this base version up on the internet for perusal.
Edit: mixed a little better now, and finally figured out how to do level automation in logic so I could fade out the ending until such time as it is filled with proper non-boring musics.
I'm a singer, about to plunged back into vocal lessons when I start up on the BFA this fall (third crack at college, maybe -this- time it will stick, eh?) and am being coached by various good friends into taking baby-steps into the world of electric guitar. I'm recording a album of my spoken-word stuff with a friend, and hell if I know if I'll a) ever get ahold of him again to finish and b) what I'll do with it when it's done.
Aside from writing hack journalism and making trite webcomics, I also play drums in an alternative rock band called As Yet Unbroken. Given the tastes of the typical Whitechapel-er, I wouldn't imagine too many of you go for alternagrungegroovepunk, but if you're so inclined, feel free to check us out at the official website or the MySpace.
Oh look, here's a picture of us recently doing things with our instruments:
