yeah, zither, something, still not quite sure what to call it... that's been the hardest part about building these things, coming up with a suitable name!
I am part of an artist run record label known as C/Fe Records. We just released a compilation CD with multiple tracks by four artists and you can listen to some of them here: http://www.myspace.com/carbonironrecords
The idea behind C/Fe is primarily one of class and electronic experimentation and it shows in all the artists music.
The featured artists for this compilation are: AllThisIsMeaningless - Houston, TX and sometimes Seoul, Korea The Still Lifes - New Zealand MusiM - Tulsa, OK deciBel - Tulsa, OK
Unfortunately we just got the hardcopies are not setup to order from online yet (to my knowledge at least) but we will be soon. The CD is $10. We are still working on our online presence so hopefully we will have something better than a myspace to link to soon as well.
I've been living in Japan for a couple of years, but I'm coming back to the old country for the first time soon and my old band (who I kind of left in the lurch) have arranged a one off "reunion" gig because they're awesome. So if you're in the Birmingham UK or the Midlands UK please come out to see the "Rock Music"
Devil and Casey Jones one off reunion show!
Date: Saturday, November 7, 2009 Time: 7:30pm - 11:00pm Location: The Red Lion Street: Warstone Lane City/Town: Birmingham, United Kingdom
We'll be giving away free copies of the last album we recorded before I skipped town, but everything we did is already free to download from our intentionally shitty website www.dacj.com. I say intentionally shitty, I believe the guitarist made it like that on purpose. Looking at it, I'm happy to see that's actually quite a lot of music - three albums, a bunch of EPs and other random stuff that we used to sell at our shows. Good grief. The best stuff is the latest stuff I would say.
Here's a couple of tracks:
We have a myspace page of course. Who knows I might even make more music with those guys.
In the meantime I'm currently working on a bunch of solo stuff and occasionally making music as a kind of primitive stompy partly improvised duo (trio?) called Captain the Parrot:
And looking for new bands to start and new trouble to get in.
I've been hesitating on bringing this up (here, I've been whoring it out on Twitter and Facebook), but since I'm possibly going to be a emergency bassist in his live band... My boyfriend released his ep. It's available as "pay what you want, including nothing", and you get a bonus song for downloading it (even if you get it for free). (Edit to fix link)
Hello there! My band is Media Nox & you can catch a listen HERE. Most of it is something like Experimental Electronica or Ambient Electronica, but I go many different directions. Hope you enjoy something!
My band is AMERICANS UK. We have a new full length record titled, "ROCKTRONIC," out on Itunes and Amazon and other places.
You can download our first EP for FREE from www.americans-uk.com, along with the cross-over comic books (free online) that chronicle our science fiction adventures. We started as pretty straight up garage band and have since moved on to post punk and the like. We play around NYC regularly.
I'd humbly like to plug my music, at www.myspace.com/jamesmacfadzean... with just a slight amount of embarrassment that I'm still plugging my music there instead of somewhere a little more in stride with the times. But I'm waiting till I have more presentable mixes of my music before I do that. Cheers.
Hey... I'm new to this world in the land of Ellis. Please have a listen to some of my music. I'm a singer/songwriter/guitarist in Los Angeles, CA. My influences are far and wide but I draw a great amount of inspiration from artists like Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Chris Whitley, and many many many Delta-based blues musicians.

I hope to introduce at least one person with one set of ears and one eye to what it is that I do.
