I know it wasn't directed at me, but I think this's been addressed before, if vaguely.
In the event of us non-mods being allowed free reign over the posting of a weekly Newskrusher thread, those involved would have to designate someone to begin the next thread each week, otherwise there might be multiple postings, cluttering, closure of all offending threads and, eventually, arse eels.
But i'm in no position to do anything other than speculate.
When Warren or I don't restart a thread... well, okay, sometimes we're just slammed and haven't gotten around to it -- but most of the time we're well aware and have a Reason. Whitechapel is Warren's gardenTamagotchi experiment -- sometimes he lops offending bits off because he's bored, sometimes they weren't growing as said on the tin, sometimes a dry run gives him a good idea for something better, sometimes it's time for a break, and sometimes he just likes to kill the things you love because he can.
If you're referring to the "Outside World" thread at all, I apologize. I saw that Warren said a few months back that he sometimes forgets to do that one.
If you weren't referring to that, please forget I said anything.
C'mon, Marc, you've been here long enough to know that sometimes threads take an extended vacation to a farm upstate where they can run free and be happy.*
You almost make it sound like I have to justify myself.
Hopefully the key word there is "almost." But, no, I wasn't seeking justification so much as specific information on what was offending you so as to more effeciently prevent a repetition of that offense. After all, it could just as easily have been the presence of Jim Cramer or Jon St ewart that was causing the offence. I am I guest in your electronic home. As a guest in your home, it struck me as only polite to learn what was offending my host so as to avoid giving offense in the future.
