um, I've had the new Lamb of God album on heavy rotation if we're talking "Music-That-Makes-Homicide-Seem-Like-A-Tactful-Mode-Of-Social-Interaction" or whatever...
GRrrrrrrrr!!! horror punk theme lately ^_^ they pretty much got me through a good chunk of high school. Been listening to them again lately and it makes me go fucking crazy with energy.
Sex Dwarf by Soft Cell. The most sleazy, salacious, filthy song that I know. Marc Almond almost sounds like he's, ahem, pleasuring himself while singing it. Playing this will guarantee that an evil grin will spread across my face and my blood will start burning with the desire to do bad things.
Dark Entries by Bauhaus does a similar thing. Yay.
Sonny's Burning or The Hair Shirt by The Birthday Party - stabby stabby.
Stutter - Elastica - for some reason, I find a song about impotence incredibly erotic. I may need help at this point.
@ mister hex I was looking forward to seeing what you'd come up with, and you did not disappoint. I'm totally with you on the Rush thing. The lyrics in this one also remind me of Doktor Sleepless, kind of...
Too drunk to fuck - Nouvelle Vague is one of my favourite Speeding up songs at the moment. Classic me really, really likes :-
and to wind up to that getting knocked all over the dancefloor mood (Now largely behind me, as It takes me far too long to get over it these days) Battle Flag - Lo Fidelity all-Stars. *edit cos 2nd link is wonky*
Did I hear somebody say "Tom Sawyer"? My buddy's band Is It Jazz? does a brilliant unplugged cover. Absolutely transforms the song, in the way that listening to The Darkness made me appreciate Queen more (if that makes sense):
While I'm on about IIJ?, their classic Monkey Orangutang from METALSTAR GAROCKTICA is a fist-pumper as well:
I need to find out what new projects these guys are on, IIJ is no more.
^ Oh hell yeah, the original Danzig Misfits are good for stirring the blood no matter what they do.
My favorite by them is Halloween I & II. If I could find a clip of the whole thing, I'd post that. I like it better as one track than split up into two parts.
