Valentines day always kind of annoyed me, even though I am in a relationship. I agree that having a specific day dedicated to saying "I love you", for everyone, is a little odd. People shouldn't need a specific day to say it. Plus it's Saint Valentine's Day, and I tend to not celebrate Saint Patrick's Day either. My birthday is in January and my partner's birthday is in February, so we do extra romantic things then, but we say "I Love you" every day, not just on holidays. I'm not a fan of Limbaugh by any means, but let's not overgeneralize, okay? I'd also note that compassion is directly related to proximity. I think one big reason that this situation went the way it did was because the Freakangels were right in the middle of the people that they were considering helping. Had they decided to teleport back to Whitechapel it might've been a different result.

Also, the idea that the 'angels can somehow stop time to have a conversation seems a little much. This is actually touching on something I've been thinking about the last couple of months- when you're building the City of God (a metaphor for the perfect society we all try to create), you have to balance what must be done with what can be done- I think Miki and KK need to come up with more of a plan. But if they have one, I'm all for rescuing them. But then, the Freak package makes that more academic than anything else.

What I'm interested in is that they all say the can do anything- how do they know? where does that come from, and why is 'Kady the only one figuring out what "anything" entails? Friday went by without much of a hitch...Valentines day, while all our plans fell to shit, was still pretty nice.
My ex girlfriend was out of the house for the weekend, so that was nice. My husband and I got to hang out, smoke, be naughty, and watch cartoons all day, unfortunately our original plan was to travel to a friend's pet shop to pick out a baby ball python which I had been waiting patiently for, for about a year now. He buggered off on us...and has still buggered off on us since valentines day. I'm beginning to lose my legendary patience.
On sunday I heard an intriguing bit of very local ghosty happenings, so I did a dowsing session.
I'm a retard though and forgot to shield myself. I ended up contacting the spirit, and finding some info out, but after it was over I sunk into an intense, nearly suicidal frustration and sadness that I wasn't able to shake until I left the house last night.

Just because they have super powers, they are still fairly young people, all things considered, and the concept of working together to increase the carrying capacity via growing/farming/whatnot might've not occured to them in the face of other more imidiate needs like basic survival. When one gets beyond that, it becomes easier to think about long-term survival because its no longer such an abstract concept, and more of a viable possibility. On of the Freak Angels said, I believe, that they were "succeeding themselves to death" They've gotten beyond here-now survival and are now starting to branch out to other things now that the question of immediate survival has been solved. That being said, this was the issue where I first really felt intrigued by where Freakangels is going. We're watching the creation of a society here, the coming together of people for protection, food, and shelter, and we're about to see what happens when they adopt their enemies. It's the creation of society bit that really gets me, the idea of being nice to people as you continue to emerge from the rubble of the world ending.
