Kronos soundtrack to Reqiuem for a dream is the glue that sealed that film. Definitely have to check out the album.

    Lately it's been:

    Radiohead, In Rainbows
Daniel Johnston, 'Some things last a long time'
    Talib Kweli, Eardrum
    Loretta Lynn, Van Lear Rose

Midlake - The Trials Of Van Occupanther
Le Loup - The Throne of the Third Heaven of the Nations' Millenium General Assembly (yeah - I cut and pasted that one)

The Midlake sounds embarrassingly like the Eagles, but i can't help loving it.

Kronos Quartet: Early Music. I can't recommend this album enough. Beautiful, fragile music with baroque trimmings and technical precision.
You might also like the soundtrack for the computer game Arcanum. It's heavily influenced by that album. The entire soundtrack is a available for free here, and I'll embed an mp3 of the main track.

Today, I've been playing around with PandoraFM, listening to a variety of rock and heavy metal music. Earlier I was listening to these:
Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle Earth
Helloween - Keepers of the Seven Keys Part 2
    Jeff Buckley - Grace
Pink Floyd - The Division Bell
    Edguy - Rocket Ride
    Our Lady Peace - Clumsy

I've been reliving the stooges of late, particularly 'Raw Power'. 'Search and Destroy' contains possibly one of the finest lyrics ever: "I'm a street-walking cheetah with a hear*t* full of napalm!". Genius.

May I also suggest those who like it loud take a ganders at the new zealand saints This City Sunrise and the extraordinary and ever so slightly schizoid Orion Arm.

    Keep it unsigned, y'all

The Treniers - 50s jump jive with a touch of sleeeze. Top cuts are Hadacol, extolling the virtues of a patent medicine that happens to be 14% alcohol, and Poontang. Which is about poontang.

ButtonHead. Gleeful spasticity somewhere in the vicinity of The Unicorns channeling Stereolab.
Bass Cleff. "Dubstep" recommendation from a friend. Not really feeling it.
