@MickeyKnox ...wow. You're down in the Long Beach area? That wildfire smoke picture is awesome thanks to its juxtaposition of the private marinas. Is that in Naples?
Little late, as per usual, and this is of course terriber internet manners (if such a concept truly exists), but to hell with it.
Hallo. I am a photographer, amongst other artistic-type things (writer/painter/critic) that also cost me more money than they make me. i think i can technically claim pro status since i have recently had a couple gallery showins and sold a photo, but i still feel like an asshole calling myself that. i'm just trevor, and i take me some pictchers.
Ventura County...that was a one-day fire in the hills above Ventura, and I just happened to be off of work that day. Interesting story:
A guy came by my booth where I sell my pictures, asking what date it was taken. I told him I wasn't sure, but it was mid-November, 2005. He said, yep, that was the same day his father died. He bought a framed copy AND an unframed copy. His girlfriend/wife made a comment to the effect that the fire was the father having his revenge (over what, I didn't want to know). Weird.
@doesitexplode, i am a huge fan of your colour choices. i get in trouble for oversaturation all the time, though. your subject matter/composition must just be good enough to let it slide. :)
The whole mess of my work can be found here on flickr, and I do have a website but I'm still dealing with the mess of putting it together (really the big issue is sorting through like 10k photos and picking the "best" ones....). I shoot a lot of performers and bands, and some dorky stuff like flowers and textures (and my new cats).
Not really sure what to post, but I'm doing a project involving "antiquing" photos for a few of the performances I've shot recently... I suppose I'll post a few of the Lady Circus:
and this is my favorite from a recent Amanda Palmer show
this is a photo of the lovely Zoe Jakes, whom I've had the pleasure of taking a few bellydance workshops with...
I also shoot with various polaroid cameras.... here is my favorite from ZombieCon 08 (it's a huge pub crawl where we all dress like zombies and harass people, in case you aren't aware of it... they do it in lots of major cities all over the place once a year)
