@lexmachine It's a Stroh violin. It's sort of a steampunk violin with a metal horn instead of a wooden soundbox.

@lexmachine: the shot of the trees and fog is awesome!

As for the phone getting taken outside, I figured the neighbors and police might get a little twitchy about the idea.

there are some grand photos on here..

i'm definitely in the amateur camp, tend to wander around with my cameras and see what i can find. have bought a couple of Holga cameras recently (120 and 35mm) and seem to be taking more with them lately than with my Nikon:

you can see me pics here

I'm still digging through the wedding photos I took about a month ago.

I actually enjoy taking supplemental wedding photos for friends, but I'd never be able to handle being the official photographer. Just thinking about that makes me itch.

I watched this today, and it made me very happy. Not as happy as if I'd been about 100 miles further south, but one makes do with what one can.

    Truly awe-inspiring.

I was in Kensington Market in Toronto a couple weeks back and it was a very interesting place. The streets were vibrant and alive, there was artwork everywhere, the residence were all very friendly. Here's some pix I took that day.

I'll start out with a couple door pix. I love it when people give their door more than just a colour to match their apartment or house. The doorway is how we enter someone personal domain so it only seems natural for it to have some art to reflect something about that person.

I thought the text written here fits in nicely with the general feel of this community.

    Some murals on the walls.

The city of Toronto is five weeks into a garbage strike and it really did stink down there.

I dunno if the nudity is gonna upset anybody, but I liked the pulpy/noir look of this one. Also, boobies.

@williac Really lovely shot. And you and me both. I severely dislike pretty much any kind of event photography, which is hilarious because before I started shooting models, that's the career path I was pretty certain was for me.

@NumberIV OMG I love that. I have a '76 300D I'm planning to restore in storage at home and I miss it so much. I love that freakin car.

@COOP This is whitechapel, it's not allowed to upset anyone. Besides, really, who doesn't love boobies? I want everything in that photo. Except the couch. The shot itself is really entertaining. I find myself examining it, over and over again, and imagine all sorts of little scenarios and situations and conversations. So fun.

@oldhat Very nice! I love the tones. And the framed Porky is REALLY amusing to me. Kind of makes you go "huh?"

@lex thanks! Actually, the framed Porky is an original cell done by Bob Clampett. It's one of the more valuable things in the house.

@oldhat The wand and the duct tape... perfect.

@lexmachine Thank you. I think you made the right choice, but it's not like you can't do a little of both, if you really want to. I'm really enamored with the idea of doing model and fine art work with the occasional high-priced event thrown in just for the novelty.
