( I hope it's ok to post this here... )

Aside from submitting things to the BBC News, I never really went for competitions. However, I was asked to compete in this, and now it seems I'm one of the finalists. (WHEEE!) It's not a big deal, I suppose... but I'm rather disappointed with the other competitors.

The competition stated: "... photographs that capture the true spirit of Brooklyn."

Most of the other pictures competing are of the Brooklyn Bridge of Coney Island or other places that are unimaginative, unoriginal, FAR too easy, and capture the spirit of NOTHING AT ALL.

So vote for mine. Because this is what Brooklyn tastes like.

    Please Vote for Me.

(...or vote for the photograph of the people crammed on the Q train. I like that one, even though it's not mine. It has character.)

    Is her grandmother an elf-sized frontier-woman? ;)

LOL, no that is a bird house that my mother bought in Amish country in PA. The bigger house to the left is where she lives ;)

Went to Palm Springs for the weekend, because apparently L.A. wasn't hot enough, and stopped again at the Wheel Inn in Cabazon to visit the concrete dinosaurs.

From our most recent trip to Florida

    From the Drum Circle:

    The Colors Man!

The People I love (and spent time with):

    My Step-Daughter

After the BBQ there is... CARNAGE!

My husband is horrible at hide and seek

And some of the random shots:

Edited to add: Seriously though, because Ice cream isn't good enough, they've invented Wine Cream? What's next Wine Soda?

I used to take more pictures than I do now. Here is one of them.

Here's my photostream, but of late, it's been clogged with comics.

Oh, and here's another one. Recommended viewing for cephelapodaphobes.

That's an old one, taken with a 35mm film camera some fifteen years back. The scan is kinda crap now that I look at it, though. All the same, thanks.

I'm, very much in the AM category, and lately I'm mostly putting up hastily framed snapshots of bad design. But here are some images that I'm happy with:
Ottawa Dusk 1 Up Ottawa Dusk 2
Reconstruction Scars of the Boom 18 Shower Timer

Spent the last weekend at the cabin site, geocaching and photographing the nature.

    Rainbows, Kittens, Spiders and Bovines

The rainbow was the most spectacular I've ever seen, more pics in the album. Got to try and fix up a panorama, it's just waiting for a day when the skies outside are not cloudless and there's some time to sit indoors at the computer.

The goddamn cows were a bit too nosy and kept slipping me the tongue, so I had to quit searching for the geocache :>

I am not one to take photos of sunsets but while i was in key west this week on vacation I thought it was a good opportunity to try out HDR for the first time.
Not sure if I like them or not.
