    I love that there are no jets coming out of the back of the jet-pack in the picture Mr. Ellis posted, only lasers coming out of the front. I remember when I was a child and my father explained to me that even though we have jet-packs, they don't work very well and you can only fly for about 3 minutes. I was so damn disappointed.

    Actually on that first cover it looks like the guy is strapped to/lying on something like an aircraft wing - and those look like propellers at the front of it.

    So it's not jetpack it's a - propboard?

    Now THIS is a jetpack.

    I love that kind of campy artistry. Do you think taking modern dialog and issues and applying that sort of obviously outdated technology would have a big audience?

    The NEVERWAS HAUL was at the Make Faire last spring. They let you climb up inside.

    If you look carefully, you'll note that the jetpack on the green block seems to be tapping his blood supply. Or maybe those guns are plasma cannons!

    Apparently in June 2007, a patent was granted for an ion-propulsion 'personal flight system.' If it's retro at all, it seems to be vaguely reminiscent of Lang's Metropolis.
