i'd say you'd need a Heather Leigh Murray sort of high-pitched wailing (Charalambides), or a bitchy Honey Owens (Jackie-O Motherfucker) drawling-on. both involve being stoned.
alternatively, you could get a Diamanda Galas thing going on, but that would probably detract from your setting.

Yeah, things are good over here. The project is slowly getting back on track. Your version of Sleeper is done. I'm not sure if you got my last email, but I ended up using 90% of what you did. I just compressed and mixed it slightly different. I'm about to do some traveling, but I'm working on a micro-site for everyone involved and will post the results as well as a couple new tracks (sans-vocals) soon. ]]>
